Hey all,

Just realized today is the last day to book for the room only deals. Just decided on a trip, but haven't exactly ironed out the details.

If I book today, but then have to change at a later date (I'll still be within the original dates of the 30% off deal) will I still be able to get the discount?

Is it better to book for more days and then take away? Or book for a minimum and then add if necessary? All I have to pay now is the $200 deposit, right? (Actually, I'm planning end of March so will I have to pay for it all now?)

(Really, you'd think I've done this enough times that I could make up my mind, but I'm am totally flip-flopping on this trip!!)

Thanks!

I would book for the most days that you think you will need. You can always take days away but there may not be more days available with the code later on. Room-only reservations only require a one night deposit, no matter how many nights you book. You pay the balance when you check in.

Now, if you are converting that room-only into a package, things get trickier. You will only be able to make changes without penalty until you are within 45 days of your arrival date. After that, you will pay a change fee if the final price is less than the original reservation. So in that case, you wouldn't want to book more days than you need. Packages require a $200 deposit and final payment is due 45 days before your vacation begins.

In either case, you run the risk that there will be no discounted rooms available for you to switch your dates around. That would be true whether the code has expired or not. You might be able to move your dates around by a day or two and retain your discount. But you wouldn't be able to change the vacation by a week or so and still get the discount.

Hello we are going in March as well but earlier. Anyways yes it 200.00 for deposit if your more than 45 days away from trip date and I agree it is better to overbook days rather than under book as you may not be able to get the hotel you want (this happened to us when we switched some FD stuff around. The rooms they had released under that code were booked up for the weekend when we tried to switch back to our original hotel.

Fine print on the 30% off deal is that not all hotels are offering 30% it is UP to 30% so if your counting on the full 30% off a room rate you might want to double check your hotel choice and see which discount applies :). Anyways have fun!!
