Can anyone recommend a good set of headphones for little kids?

My DS is 2.5 and I recently ordered an inexpensive MP3 player for him and I'd like to find appropriate headphones for him to use with it. He really likes listening to music and putting on daddy's headphones on the stereo to "rock out" but he likes messing with buttons and knobs so we stay right with him so he doesn't turn the volume up on himself. Does anyone know of any good headphones for kids? My ideal would have some sort of maximum volume limit that would protect him from accidental hearing damage. And of course, adjust small enough for his head.

Any ideas??? TIA!

Oh wow, thanks! The ones at Music for Little People look to be what I'm looking for. Thanks again!

When mine were that age I just used the dollar-store foam headband style; they run fairly small for adults, so they usually fit kids. They do not have a volume control, so you can use the volume governor on the player. Exquisite sound quality isn't an issue for most little ones, and DS probably broke 10 prs. of headphones before he learned to be kind to them.

Not a bad idea, NotUrsula! You have me thinking...I could get some and try putting some tape over the speakers under the ear pads and let him crank it. I tape over the loud toys he has and it works well.

I've taped some of my daughter's toys too! :rotfl2:

We bought a MP3 player for my daughter (3 & 1/2) and she loves it. We have some ones that clip on her ears, but when they are on too long, they start to bug her ear. And she'll use old ones of mine that are the headband type, that are a little too big for her. I love those ones that people listed! :)

I'm sure your son will love his player too! :thumbsup2

I was at Target the other day and saw they have a fisher price MP3 player I was going to look into. I have been looking for headphones too.

I did some looking for kids headphones last year and ended up buying 2 pair of this brand. My kids (3 and 6) LOVE them and they stay on well and seem quite comfortable. Plus they are too cute!! I bought them on ebay so here are a couple of links in case you are interested (I am not the seller nor do I have any affiliation with the seller :))

CoolBug Headphones

BenjiBee Headphones

Hope this helps!

I bought DD the kind that hang on the ears and she likes them. Our ENT said those are not so bad for kids hearing. We monitor her VERY CLOSELY because she tends to blast her tunes! :rolleyes1

My DS 4 wears the foam clip over the ear type headphones and loves them. Theyre easy for him to put on and comfortable. Weve always had problems with the headband type slipping off or being too big (and he has a big head). Just stay away from the ear bud types (the ones that fit inside the ear) as those are not good for the hearing. As for volume, I just didnt show those buttons to my son and we havent had a problem with it, but the tape idea sounds good.
