Thanks again, guys. :grouphug: Jury duty couldn't have gone any better. They let us all go around 10:30am, and when I called tonight about tomorrow, it said we don't have to report back at all!! :cool1: I wouldn't really mind it any other time, but this week just wasn't the best for me.

I had a good day to myself today (since the kids were at school). I went grocery shopping, went for a run, and then cleaned the house. :faint:

Yup, I went for a run. I'm so glad I talked myself into it. It was so beautiful here today (sunny and in the 50's) so there was no reason NOT to. :) I didn't have a c25k printout handy, and didn't feel like going online...so I just figured I'd wing it, and maybe run a "kim" (aka 2 miler). After 1 mile (12 mins) my legs were heavy, so I took a walk break. But when I was walking my shins were really hurting bad. :scared: I walked 4 mins (1/4 mile) and then started running again, just to see how far I could go. I made a loop and ended up running all the way home. :hyper: Total distance = 3.2 miles. Time 39 minutes. :hyper: Thanks to U2 for keeping great pace for me. :rotfl:

The run was exactly what I needed to get a grip on things. There's really nothing I can do for gmom right now, so I need to stop neglecting myself and what I have planned. I know that's what she would want for me too. To be happy. ::yes::

Thanks again, guys. For your continued support. I'd be lost without you.:grouphug:

Hey Kim....

Just wanted to pass along my best wishes for your gmom. I know it's a difficult situation to deal with...hang in there and try to keep your chin up :)

Nice to see that you got out there today despite everything....I'm sure you are right, probably the best thing you could have done for yourself. Running can sometimes cleanse the mind and help you refocus, it's not always about the miles or the time but about mentally helping yourself out.

Hang in there Kim...I wish everyone the best

Kim, I am relieved that you don't have to spend the week in court in addition to everything else that you are coping with right now.

That was smart of you to go out for your run today - I bet that helped a lot, and like you say, I am sure your grandmother would want you to take care of yourself and be happy. I'm glad your run was a good one. It's great to see you back in the groove and racking up those miles.

You can't have too many of these. (Though I have no idea why the hug smilie is now in the MORE category. It's my favorite one!)

 Kim...I'm so glad you didn't have to worry about jury duty. That helps a lot! Still thinking about your grandma...and your family . I am proud of you for getting out there and running yesterday, sometimes it's the hardest thing to do but after it's done it really helps to lift the spirits a bit.

Please update us when you get a moment!f

Praying for your gmom & your family. Hang in there!

Glad jury duty went easy & that the hip is getting better.

AWESOME run!!

Ugh, still nothing new with gmom. :sad2: I don't know which is worse...the waiting or the grieving afterwards. :sad1:

As for me, I ran with my friend Janine today at lunch - 25 minutes straight. :thumbsup2 No where near easy, but I didn't stop, and I willed my legs to move one foot in front of the other.

The plan is to run 25 minutes again on Friday, then re-run the 3.2 mile loop on Sunday and see how it goes!

Love ya guys. Good to "see" you, Julie! :wave2:

How come you didn't call me?? Girl...I told you I'm ALWAYS here for you!!!
I'm really sorry to hear about g-mom....I know you're close to her. Take care of you first and foremost...even when you don't feel like it.

Kim,
The waiting is hard. The grief is hard. And I could be wrong about this, but I think the grief is there even during the waiting, because you are anticipating the loss. To me, makes the waiting the harder part, but that's just my humble opinion. Is she in a coma at this point? Are the doctors giving any idea about timeframe? It's so hard not knowing.

This may not be the right time, but when my MIL was dying, someone suggested the book "Final Gifts" to us. Written by hospice nurses, it really changed the way I thought about the process of dying.

You are doing so great with your runs. I envy your regular running partner, and am impressed that you are back up to 25 minutes. My legs were saying the same thing to me today that yours were saying to you. It sounds like we both pushed through the tired. Sometimes it's almost entirely will power, isn't it?

Wow, I've got to get to bed. Take care, hon!

Just got the news that grandmom passed away yesterday at 3pm. It's very, very sad, but I'm doing ok right now. Services will be next Wednesday - so I'm sure that'll be an awful day. :sad1:

Thanks again, you guys, for all of your prayers and well wishes for my gmom and family over the last year or so. She's at peace now, and heaven is a better place with her in it.

Oh Kim,

I'm so sorry....:sad1: My heart goes out to you, sweetie. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. If there's anything that we can do for you, please let us know.:grouphug:

I'm very sorry, Kim. It's always so hard to say goodbye to someone you love. Take good care. We're here for you.
