Kids with allergies

I need a little help understanding how to handle a kiddo with allergies. My DD5 is allergic to cashews and pistachios. She has a set of Epipens that we take with us just in case.

I’m curious how the kids club handle Epipens. When we traveled with her a few years ago in the nursery, we dropped her off and left the Epipens at check in. Is it a similar process for the Oceaneer Club/Lab?

And, what about boarding the ship? All I have is the pens - the box with the prescription sticker was thrown away a while ago.

I would love any hints!! TIA!

KT2038 is a Kid's Club CM who frequently posts here - so hopefully they'll see this and be able to tell you the current status. I do know there was no food in the clubs when we were there in January.

I haven't cruised since the restart, but I'm not sure anything has really changed. Be sure the allergy is noted on your reservation and the Club/Lab registration. Yes you will need to drop-off the Epi-pens with the child and pick them up each time as well.

You shouldn't have any trouble at boarding, they really aren't looking for prescription labels. You might want to print out a copy of the claim since you no longer have the label, but I highly doubt it would be questioned. The pens will need to be labeled with your child's name for the Club/Lab, though.

As PP mentions, there has been no food in the Club/Lab since the restart.

Thanks! I’ll be sure everything is labeled. We should have bought stock in ziploc years ago… everything goes in a baggy!! And I’ll see if I can bring a prescription copy too. :) Thanks!!

One of my kids has an Epi-pen for food allergies. I put her benadryl, Epi-pen, and allergy action plan in a small labeled backpack and left it each time I dropped her off.

Hi, like everyone else has said, label the epipen with your child’s name and bring it with you when you check in. We will keep it secure while she is with us and then you take it back when you check out.
please feel free to DM me if you have further questions.
