KID's TRIED TO BUY DH & I DISNEY DOLLARS! ALL GONE!

I just got off with our Disney Store because our 4 Children wanted to Surprise us with Disney Dollars for May 1st. and they were told this is the first time in Disney history that they did not make enough Disney Dollars to go around. They told me that they also never expected the high amount of people buying what they had. I was further told that they won't have any until mid to the end of May. I went one further and asked what about at WDW do they have them and I was told they are all sold out too! Wow! The only way I was told that you can get some Disney Dollars is if your store has some hanging around. They are in the process of making all new dollars to go with the new Celebration! So if you need them I would check your Disney Stores Now!

I heard they weren't sold out but that they recalled the inventory back from the store in anticipation of the new design coming out in May for the 50th anniversary celebration.

I had this problem for Easter, as the Easter Bunny was going to leave some for DD's for our upcoming trip in 8 days....

But if you go to the theme park threads (I think) or do a search there is an 800 # to call, and I did, and they mailed them to me (for a fee of $3). They are only in $25 denominations, and they aren't Disney Dollars. They have Mickey on them and they say "Gift Certificate".

It worked for us though, and the girls thought the Easter Bunny shopped somewhere else than Santa Claus and Mom and Dad.

That's strange because I won $250 worth where I work & they were mailed out to me within 2 weeks. They do say Disney Dollars on them. And they're in $10 denominations.

The Disney Stores all over tha country have been running out of DD# for the past 3 months.

No, they were not recalled; the old inventory has simply sold out because new DD$ have not been shipped for several months. The new designs for the Happiest Celebration on Earth have been in the works for some time, and although many TDS CMs don't know tha exact date when the new DD$ will go on sale, there have been reports that some TDSs have been recieving the new DD$ already and are not yet allowed to sell them. Best guess is that the new DD$ will go on sale at TDS on May 5, when the HCOE officially begins.

You can still get DD$ by phone from WDW Mail Order - (407) 363-6200, or fax (fax your order, including desired denominations, name, address, and credit card information, to 1-407-566-5645). I haven't actually done this myself but I have heard that buying DD$ by phone or fax can cost you a shipping and handling fee of up to $10.
