Hi,
We will be making our first trip to Disney in December-the 8-12. I love christmas and would love to go to this event, but am wondering if it would wear my kids out (i.e it is at night and would it be worth the money if we only stayed 7-9 or something like that.) Our kids will be 5, 3 and 1. Should we go for it or skip it until next trip?:earsgirl:

I don't know what to tell you. While this is a great event, it can be a little spooky. It's somewhat dimly lit and there's some kind of scary music playing. My DD10 was a bit intimidated by it the first time we went.

I think it would be fine. We have taken our DD for the last 2 years for her Dec. birthday. She was 1 and 2 y/o. The only problem we had was with the fireworks last year. She was afraid because they were so loud, but she really enjoyed everything else.

I'd go for it but that's me!

We've been going since DDs were 1 and 4, 2 and 5 and again 4 and 7.

We LOVE it so much!

Just be sure to have a stroller for falling asleep in and take it easy and enjoy the great atmosphere, shows, and parade!!

You might have to do the first parade since your kids will probably fall asleep before the second one.

Good luck deciding!

We took my niece (4 years old) and nephew (7 years old) last December to MVMCP. They loved every second of it. They loved the snow, the cookies, and the shows. Also we got to see alot of the characters that were out in their christmas outfits. They did fall asleep during the second parade but disney did the christmas parade on friday during the day so it wasn't that big of a deal. I would say do it. One piece of advice take it easy that day before the MVMCP. We actually got up and went to Epcot but we went back to the room around 1pm that day. The kids rested before we went and were so ready for MVMCP. Only mistake was not eating before going to the party. We ended up eating at Casey's hot dogs but we should planned to eat at the BC where we were staying.

The CHRISTMAS party is spooky, dimly lit and has scary music playing? That seems a little out of theme, don't you think?

I'm guilty of confusing the parties in threads at times! I love them both and sometimes I forget which party I'm talking about!! Too funny!

Unless your kids will take a good long nap that afternoon or are used to staying up later, I'd skip it. If only one of the three is tired or cranky, you won't have much fun (based on experience with a 16 month old and 5 year old).

IMHO, it's a lot of money if you are only going to stay a few hours. I'd suggest waiting until they are older. JMHO. YMMV.

Best wishes -

Whewwww.... I was about to think nobody was going to catch this in this thread!!!! Sharon - your kids will love the Christmas party. They will get a kick out of it snowing on Main Street!!!:cool1:

If it's a "special" trip (not an annual thing for you), I'd do it! We are taking the day off, and will go to MK around 4 pm and hopefully make it all night, but my kids are a bit older.

In 1999, my kids were 5, 3 & 1, and we did an 10-1 am e-night. It worked out great with a rest in the afternoon, then hit the park around dinner. We had the double stroller and a single stroller that trip, and after riding rides and playing with characters ALONE for a while, they crapped out around midnight. This gave DH and DSis about an hour to ride Space Mountain---about 10 times!!!!! LOL!!!

We went to MNSSHP last October and I was a little nervous about keeping the girls out late. My kids are early to bed every evening (7:30) so I wasn't sure how they would manage staying out late. We made sure that we had a low key day and tried to take a nap in the afternoon. It worked out pretty well as they managed to stay up and enjoy the party until around 10:30. They had fun at the party!

We've got tickets this year to MVMCP and we will use the same stragegy. BTW, our kids were 7 and 5 last October if that helps.

That spooky Christmas music gets the kids every time!!! :teeth:
