Kids switching between clubs during the cruise

I am unclear about whether or not kids are allowed to visit different kids clubs on a cruise if they meet the age requirements, or if they have to pick one at the beginning of the cruise and stick to it.

We just rebooked a cruise for next summer, when our kids will be 14, 11, and 9 years old. The 14-year-old is eligible for either the Edge or the Vibe. Can he go to either or them whenever he wants, or does he have to pick one at the start of the cruise? Likewise for our 11-year-old who can do Edge or Oceaneer's Club/Lab. My 9-year-old will have to do Oceaneer's. If the 11-year-old were allowed to switch, that would be great, since sometimes she could play with her little sister at Oceaneer's, and sometimes she could play with her older brother at Edge. Likewise my 14-year-old could go by himself to Vibe if he wanted to.

I have heard conflicting things about this. The "Unofficial Guide" says that "Once a choice [over a kids club] is made, it may not be changed." But this Mom's Panel response seems to indicate that kids can switch between Edge and Oceaneer's: https://disneyparksmomspanel.disney...witches-secure-programming-open-house-391695/ Also I get that during open house periods, anyone can go to the club.

Which is it? TIA

The overlap age groups (11-12 for Oceaneer's/Edge and 14 for Edge/Vibe) those kids can go to both clubs.

It used to be that, for a child in the overlap age groups, they had to select one or the other and that's the only one they could attend.

Kids whose ages overlap with multiple clubs don't need to choose, they can go to both. Vibe and edge cms will put a sticker on your child's keycard the first time they check-in. We usually do that during open house on the first day.

My youngest overlapped with 2 clubs for both our cruises, but really only went to the older club after day 1.

Your "Unofficial Guide" might be an older version. Kids in the overlap ages no longer have to choose, they can utilize both spaces for their age.

Enjoy your cruise!

Agree with everyone. Last year when my daughter was 14 she went to both Vibe and Edge during the cruise.

Make sure the 11 year old has sign out privileges. Otherwise you will have to check him out each time to switch clubs. On the EBTA my 10 year old was allowed to go into the Edge. It just depends on who is working and how crowded the ship is.

Thanks all for the info! Glad that the kids will be able to "park-hop" between the clubs.

Unless policies have changed in the past few years, having sign-out privileges is a requirement for participating in Edge.

11- and 12-year olds in the Club/Lab do not need to have signed-out privileges, but if they don’t, they can’t go to Edge. When I asked whether my daughter, who was turning 11 during our cruise, could go to Edge, the first question we were asked in Edge was “Does she have sign-out privileges?”
