We just purchased DVC during our Mediterranean cruise. I'm thinking about booking a Mexican Riviera cruise for 2011 as Disney just announced "kids sail free" for select dates in Jan-March.

My question, does DVC adjust points to reflect the "kids sail free" offers or is it better to book special deals as cash purchases?

Thanks for helping out a newbie!

No. You will have to book the kids with points. It could be better to book the deal through DCL and pay cash.

You can book at least one adult in the room on DVC points, and do the remainder points or cash combo. But, the cash price will be a prearranged contracted price that is decided on each year by DCL and DVC.

If you book the cruise via DCL as a regular cash customer, then you can take advantage of the Kids are Free promotion. :)

DCL reservations are no different than WDW deals that DVC members can't use for points stays. Like free dining - not available for a points stay. Kids sail for free - not available for a points stay.
