When we were on the Magic in Nov 02, we had our two 6 year olds with us. They aprticipated in many of the activities that were geared towards them during the week. We found out at the end of the week that if they had participated in all of the activities, there was a special "prize" for them to take home. At this point I don't remember what it was.

This November, we will be on the Wonder for the 3 N cruise. Do they do something similar on the shorter cruises? Does anyone know how many activities consitute doing "everything"?

Many thanks... Paul

On our last 2 7 days, they had discontinued this program. Several cruises ago, DD got a hat for attending one of the "main" activities each day--NOT all the activities. There were 2 or 3 activities each day identified at "main."

The last 2 cruises, there was no mention of this program. However, they still got the picture with Mickey if they participated in the "make the frame" activity and the shirt for the show.

DD11 got an Oceaneers' Lab hat on the last night of our 10/11 7-day cruise. Everyone who showed up on the last night received the hat....there was no other requirement.

I know that they didn't give anything for participation for the Talent Show. We hoped that a certificate or something would have been given to the children who did such an outstanding job showcasing their talents (singing, dancing, playing an instrument).

I think Disney falls short on that because the Talent show is always fun and those children need ALL our support and encouragement!!

Rae, I'm going to put your idea of a certificate or something for talent show performers on my suggestion card. You are totally right! My DD doesn't like the fact that her harp can't come on the ship and they don't have one for her to use! She has talked to some of the entertainment people about the fact that they need a harpist in the atrium at formal night and she would "work for Disney for free!"

You are right about giving tokens of support to the kids...she sure has practiced a lot harder since she started playing at churches and getting attention.

Sorry psimon.............Just a little BD flashback.

From your lips to God's ears! We need humor in our lives!

kcashner - AND everyone else reading this!!!
Yes, please do suggest that Disney reward the children for their performances - it's very hard to get up there and "do their thing" -whether it's singing or playing or both!

We were very (VERY) fortunate that Fidelio (Dueling Pianos) was still hosting the Talent Show with his DP partner, the fabulous and very handsome Anton during the cruise that our son Michael performed (voice and piano) .....Fidelio and Anton did their best to make sure the children were complimented, complimented and COMPLIMENTED!

But still a little token or certificate from that night would have gone a long way --------
