An example of a Kids' Picks is Chicken Nuggets served with choice of two side items: grapes, carrot sticks, or applesauce and choice of beverage: 1% milk, apple juice, or small bottled water.

French fries and soda available upon request.

My Qs:
On DDP, do they get a dessert (like cookie or ice cream)? Or is the applesause considered the dessert?

Also, if you request French Fries, is that in place of 1 side item or both side items?

Yes, they still get a dessert like a cup of ice cream or a cookie. Fries count as one side item. We usually get grapes and fries.

some of them will also say for the kids meals, (i copied this from scifi kids meals) in this case if you want fries with your hotdog you dont get the salad or soup. it should really read kids get 1entree 1side and 1dessert. because there really is no appetizer involved.

I'm curious about the Kids Pick @ CS. Some have told me the whole Kids Pick is the meal so that applesauce is the dessert.

What have you experienced?

You are probably not going to get a straight answer on this one. It varies greatly from place to place. I would just ask once you get in line as the CS place. We tried to use our kid meals at places that didn't have a kid option and shared a lot.

For CS they typically let them pick any 2 side items so they could get nuggets, fries, and cookie. Most CS places seemed to have cookie, jello, or pudding as kids dessert options. The problem though is that it is hugely inconsistent. Some places let them get 2 sides and then also a dessert and other places it was 2 sides total where 1 could be a dessert. Other places let them get 2 sides and fries. I don't think the same thing happened twice but it always worked out fine because we had plenty of extra desserts with the DDP anyway.

For CS, the applesauce has been the dessert everytime we buy it. The only time we ever got ice cream was for TS kids' meals.

Unfortuantely I can't report a yes/or no answer. When I was on the DxDDP in February, several CS locations considered the kids dessert to be part of the Kid's Picks (pudding was often part of the pick) so if you wanted dessert, they wanted you to make it part of the pick. On the other hand, the brochure clearly says "combo meal plus dessert" so if you complain, the manager will probably accomodate you - but remain convinced it doesn't include the dessert. Some CS locations had no problem giving a seperate dessert in addition to the Kid's Picks, and the Disney computer system did not charge for it, but considered it part of an allowable CS meal. Of course, things may have changed since then. Unfortunately it wasn't uniform then.
