Does anyone know if you get these packs on the Heathrow to Miami flight and if so what is in them. I am packing some stuff for the kids and if the pack contains some crayons etc I won't bother putting them in the goody bags for the boys.

2 days to go...... eeeeeeekkkkk

Hi Kirsten

I thought VA do a kids pack on all their flights .

Not sure how particular your kids are about their colouring in,but I would take some crayons anyway. Otherwise you sit there for 9 hours listening to them complain that there are only 4 colours and they 'don't colour in as nice as Crayola ......" A small box won't take up much space ;)

Thank you, Seth is very particular (that kid loves to draw) so I have packed some flip top lid washable markers, I might go through our pens and stuff and dig out some crayons, we have heaps they just are no longer in boxes, I saw some square ones somewhere now they would be a good idea won't roll of the table.

Square ones sound like a great idea. I had never thought of that. Do you ever give the kids a little pack for departure? Some do, some don't, but I always put in a pack of felt tips and used to just buy a small box of crayon (my daughter is now a little older and wants coloured pencils). If you have them with you, they can come in handy when standing in lines or waiting for fireworks. A small hardcovered notebook helps by giving a firm surface to do draw on - not for the plane, but has been a lifesaver for me many times.

They have trunkis and on the suggestion of someone on here, I have bought a tote that goes in it. So you don't have to keep getting the trunki down to get stuff out. The whole tote comes out and clips on the seat in front. They don't know they are getting those and I have filled them up with stuff to do, a few wee games, book, stickers, pens, activity books, a car each a wee lego item and a bag of snacks. They have some stickers to decorate their trunki with so they can do that at the airport and then check out the tote on the plane so that should keep them entertained a bit.

Bags almost all packed but house now a tip. Baby just woken up so suppose I should give her some lunch. LOL.

We flew to Orlando and DD got a pack it did not have crayons in it.

It had:
  • Cap
  • Reading book
  • Watch
  • One of the colouring pencils were they have the different colour segments that you take out the bottom and put in the top
  • Small colouring book

Not great TBH but kept DD quiet for a few minutes!

thanks you that is great to know, I will have to swipe those blasted pens before the kids see them. They can never do it and I spend all my time swapping the colours around every 2 seconds. :headache:

Kirsten, seriously, take your own stuff. Those packs are fine for the not so average, exceptionally easy to please child but they are freebies and if your kids are used to 'decent' stuff, it's just one more petty thing to deal with on the plane.

You must be getting soooo excited now! :yay:

Be good to hear how you found the flight as I am also doing this route in august for the first time , my DS will be happy as long as the films are working ok , have a great holiday
