kids on cruise-12 and 15

On our last cruise my kids were 12 and 9 and had the time of their life. Now, I'm starting to get worried the older one may get bored on the days at sea. (7 day Eastern Apr 2005)

Can my 12 year old do the teen activities with my older on, providing the older one would want her little sis tagging along? And are there enough activities for them on board?

CM's normally really helpful and will allow kids to go up or down a group if not too much age gap, speak to them onboard, you may find they want to do different things , teen won't be bored at sea i can prettu much guarantee it

I thought the same thing but learned that you can't depend on that! The 15 year old hated the cruise..sat in the room crying the whole time and wanted to go home...she was bored to tears LOL>..she was just miserable, she actualy wanted us to fly her home from Cozumel she was so miserable...my 4 year old LOVED the kids club this time and can't wait to go back but the 1st cruise she wouldn't go in them at all...I was shocked the second cruise when she went right in and waved goodbye LOL...but teenagers are weird creatures...never know how they are goign to be on there!

We just did the Eastern with our ds-13. He had a blast and can not wait to go back. He looks at the planes flying south and wishes to go back!

I think it definitely depends on the teen. Since we had been on before, I think ds felt very comfortable and jumped in with both feet.

Even though he didn't necessarily spend his time doing all the stack activities, he found a group of kids to hang out with. He still e-mails them.

If you can, go to the cruise meet board and find someone their ages, maybe even hook up dinner ressies with them. If you can light a fire under them, they might even e-mail each other before the cruise.
