Kids Night Out - Tipping question

We are using kids night out babysitting service for the first time and when making our reservation they mentioned that the rate was $16.50/hour for two children and didn't include gratuity.

How much gratuity is appropriate for the babysitter? Do most give a percentage or a flat amount?

When if doubt, tip 10%-20%. In this case, I would tip $3/hr (a little over 18%), although you could also tip $3.50 to bring your total to an even $20/hr (at a tip rate of a little over 21%).

According to this article, 16% of an average babysitter's income is from tips, which means that people are tipping babysitters at an average rate of 19%.
