Kids night out (or other) service

I really want to hear what people have to say about using a sitter service while at Disney.

It would be GREAT if my wife and I could get out for a night, just the two of us. We'll be there for 10 days, staying off resort and would love to head over to pleasure island to have some fun.

However, no amount of fun is worth putting our daughter at risk of any kind. I'm very torn. They seem trustworthy, I think I/we may be just way to over protective. She is our first child, she is 3 and is the world to us. It's hard to let go of that fear, even after 3 years.

Any advice, tips, insight would be greatly appreciated!

My friend used Kid's nite out during a recent trip, her son was around 1 1/2 at the time. She said the lady was great and she would definitely use her again. Since your daughter is 3, I think she may be able to go to the kid's club.

Last year I used them for my Three Year old girl... Had no complaints.. Came on time, She brought some toys and such that looked to be clean and in good shape. She asked about what she likes to do/play with asked what why restrictions for the child was (can she go to playground, Food court or just stay in room only) I let he be able to go to wherever in the resort.

I think we called once to check in and she answered quickly, I did leave cash for her to get food for the both of them (I think for a certain amount of hours you must provide lunch/dinner) She just used it for one snack for my child and had receipt.

She did bring her the playground ( I approved that was okay first) and got her nice and tired by the time we returned.

all in all I think we had her watched for 4-5 hours... Very professional experience and would def. do it again (was kids night out) and we booked it the night before.

We have never used Kids Night Out but have heard nothing but great things about them.

We have used the Disney Kids clubs. I think they are $11 an hour and will provide lunch and dinner if appropriate. The kids loved being there so much they asked us to take them back!

The only stipulation is that they have to be potty trained there.

I read nothing but good reviews for kids night out but I can't get past the thought of leaving my daughter with a stranger and possibly putting her in danger all for a few hours of fun. I guess I'm a paranoid and/or overprotective dad!!!

I'm pretty sure you do not need to be a resort guest to use the kid's clubs. You do have to make reservations though. Actually after a quick google search, it looks like the Neverland Club may be your only option as an offsite guest as far as the Kid's Clubs go.

I have used the Neverland Club in the past, and my daughter loved it! Highly recommend them.

While staying at BWI, we used the Sandcastle Kids Club at BC on our last visit and DD (5 yrs at the time) loved it! She actually wanted to go back the next day!

Not sure if you have to be an onsite guest, but I would highly recommend looking into the kids clubs.

There are activities, movies, games, and the kids are fed too. I still have the beaded key chain she made me, and that was back in 2008!

I've used a Kid's Nite Out sitter who came into the park with us and she took one kid at a time so I could have 1 to 1 time with each child and allow my older child to ride "big kid" rides. My youngest was just a toddler at the time. She was fabulous with both kids. I had no concerns about leaving either one with her.

I'm planning on using the Neverland club on our next trip so the older child and I can get some "big kid" ride time in, now that the youngest is old enough to stay there. Have heard nothing but great things. It would be easy for you to enjoy a nice dinner at the Poly or GF and then pick up.

I think the child has to be 4 to go on one of the Pirate Cruises, but I used this for some "me time" on a single parent trip with my then 5 year old one trip. It is a morning event offered at several hotels (believe GF, Port Orleans and Contemporary). I had enough time to eat a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a 2nd and 3rd cup of coffee and read the paper from front to back. Heaven in the middle of a multi-day solo parent trip!!! Oh, and my son thought it was GREAT! He came back with "treasure" and several stories of his adventures as a pirate that morning.

We used Fairy Godmothers, not sure they are still going, but we were very pleased with the service. We don't live near family so a night to ourselves is very very rare. I figure in this day and age if anyone had, had a negative experience it would be on the internet.

That said though if you aren't going to enjoy yourself for worrying, maybe just get a nice bottle of wine and take out and enjoy each others company after the wee one has gone to bed, and save your night out when you get home and have a babysitter you know.

Realize this thread is a few months old, but can any of you who recently used Kids Nite Out (and would use it again) PM me with the name of your sitter?

Wife and I are thinking of using them for our trip later this month and, as you can guess, she's a bit nervous about it. I think being able to request someone who specifically came recommended would help put her at ease!

We asked for Auntie Jean on our return visit in Nov last year. We used her when our son was 2 and were so impressed with her that we asked for her specifically the second visit. She is a retired deputy head of a special needs school and was fantastic with our son

I hope it works out for you. I was neurotic the first time we booked and quizzed Auntie Jean in great depth. My job means I am very aware of all sorts of issues involving kids, and coming to a different country meant that I was more than a little nervous. We dined in resort so I could check up on Auntie Jean and expected to do so every halfpenny hour we were out - I checked once and once only

Thank you for this!! We are going in November and wanted to use Kid's Night Out so hubby and I could go to F&W festival. We have two kids with Down Syndrome and was worried about finding someone through them that would be comfortable with our two. Soooo elated to see this. I will be making our reservations and asking for her. Thank you soo much!!!
