Kids movies not to watch with kids

My DD6 love most of these movies including Twilight but will not watch Barnyard :confused3 She doesn't like the coyotes.

As to other films listed in the thread...I agree...it all depends on the kid. As for my girls, 6 and 8 respectively, love those dark children's movies. Coraline, The Dark Crystal, Labrynth, even the new Christmas Carol...they loved them all!

Of course they also are both RABID Dr Who fans so that should tell you about my kids! :thumbsup2

DS is 7 and we took him to see A Christmas Carol in 3D. He loved it. But as others have said, it depends on the child. He also liked Where the Wild Things Are when his 2nd grade class went to see it.

DH and I are also long time Doctor Who fans and we thought DS was able to watch it. Nope. He watched the ep "Girl in the Fireplace" when it first aired and was scared (I think it was DT's second season?). He still can't watch Doctor Who without getting scared. Yet he went on the dinosaur ride in AK when he was 4 without a problem. Go figure.

Secret of NIMH, mainly cause the subject matter is more 'adult", and I think a lot of kids would be bored with the subject matter as it is really deep and intense...That being said I LOVED the book/story as a child.

So did I. Much better than the movie.

I felt REALLY bad. I took my DS 10 and DS5 to see "Where the Wild Things Are." My DS5 told me just before we went in "Mommy my teacher said this was not a kids movie." Me " yes it is dear, you will be ok!" Well he was down in the floor because the "sun is going out and will stop shining." I was bored to tears and he hated it! Bad movie. Also Disney Christmas Carol was a little darker than I thought but I should have know given the story. My husband and I will preview movies before let the kids see them 99% of the time.

My 4 kids 10-6-3-2 all love this movie ! :goodvibes The eye part bugs all of us . Although my 6 year old is fascinated by the whole mermaid ****s scene :P so I retired it to the closet :rotfl:

The one movie that comes to my mind is Watership Down. It's an animated movie, but it's not for kids. Even the book isn't exactly for kids.
My dh just brought this home from our local library for the kids to watch..they're 10, 7 and 2. I'm thinking they shouldn't watch it....although I really have no idea what it's about!:confused3
