Hi everyone, I am planning our first trip, we arrive November 30th. I want to eat at the 50s prime time but I don't like the Kid's menu but there are items on the adult menu they would like (old fashioned beef stew, roast chicken) - do you think they would let me split an adult portion between two tiny girls that would never eat an adult portion.

Many thanks

Juanita

ANYONE can split at Prime Time. Most adult can not eat a whole plate there. You might even be able to split between you and the kids. The fried chicken is awsome!!

Thank you so much. Do most restaurants in Disney allow kids to share an adult portion. My kids like adult food and many times I know they will like what is on the adult menu more than what is on the kids menu. Are there any restaurants that discourage this practise.

Thanks again,

Juanita

We were just at Prime Time last week and my DS9 really wanted the fried chicken, which was not on the childrens menu. I was hesitant, but agreed and our cousin said we could get a junior version of the adult meal. It was only about .50 more than all the other kids meals. We also splurged and got the drinks with the electric ice cubes. We are still using them at home.

Also wanted to note that after eating the chicken....my son tried to hide the green beans under the bones, cousin caught that, announced it to everyone in the restaurant and then brought him our a green bean sundae for dessert!! Too funny.

We split meals at 50's TM with no problem. On our last trip, we told the server that DH and I would split a sandwich and then we each ordered a cup of soup. They brought half a sandwich out on two plates. Splitting meals is very common at all WDW restaurants.

They have always been wonderful about giving us child's portions of adult menu items and charging us for the child's meal. They even did it for my 92 year old grandmother!

We've done the 'split entree' and the half portion option at 50s Prime Time. The half portion is not as messy. If you're going for the fried chicken, the half portion will be a thigh and a leg. If you ask for white meat, you'll get one breast.

Of course the best thing about it (for me) is that the half portion doesn't necessarily come with green beans. Now, I love the flavors of food at WDW, but the green beans tast like DIRT!!! I know that they're grown on the property, and they're organically grown- but I offered one to a server at the Rose & Crown, and he agreed that they DO taste like dirt!!

So I'll never be a member of the clean plate club.......
