I'd like to try Starring Rolls for one of our TS credits, but it looks like PB&J is the only kids offering. Is this true? Is there no peanut free option for kids?

the uncrustables lunch was the only option for kids when we were there about 18 mos. ago.

Keeping in mind they do not make sandwiches (or anything) there. It's not like a deli where you choose your meats, cheeses, toppings, dressing, etc.

The sandwiches are sold as-is...you have to take them exactly as they are (I know that for sure...was there with someone who wanted one without the dressing. Was told exactly what I'd told her: they only have the pre-made sandwich, no special orders.)

Now if there's a peanut allergy, IDK, you could sure ask...maybe they'd allow a substitution of the sandwiches they do sell. But a lot of kids probably wouldn't like those. Kind of adult-tasting gourmet deli sandwiches I think. Don't think any of my kids would have eaten those types of sandwiches when they were little (much more adventurous as adults.)

Starring Rolls is great for muffins, bagels and pastries with coffee and drinks. We use snack credits for those items. We've never eaten lunch there. You would use a CS though save your TS for a sit down meal. You could go right up the street across from the entrance to Beauty and the Beast and get any item from salads, chicken, burgers and pizza and your sandwich from starring Rolls. There are tons of cover picnic tables. Be careful at Starring Rolls if its hot the tables will be hot. My dd14 burned her leg on the chair. :scared1:

As PP said, Starring Rolls is a QS (quick-service) place not a TS (table service place).

If your child likes deli meat, you could share an adult sandwich. Those sandwiches are huge with LOTS of meat in them. It would be pretty easy to just take some meat off and let them eat that. Use a snack credit for some fruit and/or a pretzel and your set.

I can confirm that they do not produce the food in-house and they can't accept requests to customize the sandwiches - they couldn't provide a sandwich without mayonnaise.

In case of an allergy, ask what they will give as a substitute for the child's lunch. They'll only be able to offer what they have at the time; they won't be able to prepare anything for a special request.

Unless what you want to do is trade one of your TS credits for a CS meal, there isn't a reason to use a TS credit there, as it is a counter service restaurant.

Well, darn!!

We were going to try Starring Rolls for lunch this time, but I can't stand mayonnaise. Anything else, I'm game to try... as long as there is NO mayonnaise! :thumbsup2

Oh, well, I guess it's back to Toy Story Pizza Planet!

I wonder if I can trade my rice krispie Mickey from TSPP for a cupcake from Starring Rolls? :rolleyes1

My DD8 will protest getting a PBJ for her lunch there, and I plan to get lunch there again this year, as our last trip there the sandwiches were great. So, I'm using a snack credit for a bagel for her to eat for lunch since she loves them. DS10 is an adult on the plan, and he's looking at their packaged sushi. Hopefully they'll allow that to be an entree on the QS plan.

they did allow the packaged sushi on adult menu last year...no side, though. One in our party got the sushi and was told sushi-dessert-beverage was the counter service meal allowed.:thumbsup2
