Kids' Meals a la carte at TS restaurants?

I've seen on receipts where it looks like each part of the meal is individually priced. Most TS restaurants I see are basically $7.49 for the kids' meals and include entree, two sides, and a drink. Has anyone been able to get just an entree without sides, or with only one side and actually get a discount from the bill?

When we were on the DDP, it didn't really matter. But we used TiW the last trip and I noticed my kids just weren't really interested in two sides... very often there'd be leftover sides, I'd see it on the receipt and think, "did I really just pay $1 or $2 for apples that my kid just left in the bowl?"

Somewhere last year they actually offered for DD just to get a pizza none of the other stuff for about $5 I think.

But I know we didn't have the whole kids meal. We have had a dessert seperatly a few times too.

DD was only 15mths so mostly shared with us.

Yes, just this week at Sanaa & The Wave. $4.95 if I remember correctly for the main course & drink, no appetizer or dessert. This was from the Kid's Pick Section not the Kid's Complete Meal Section.

A couple of years ago our waiter at Spoodles mentioned that we could do this. We were trying to decide which "appetizer" to order DD as part of the kids meal (neither choice appealed to her) and he mentioned that we could get just the pizza and a drink and it would come out slightly cheaper than the kids meal. I think we saved a couple of dollars that way.

Glad so many found this possible... makes dining at a TS a little more affordable...

We're not always looking for desserts, so if the kids' meals cost the same as they do at CS (no sides/dessert), and adults share a meal, some TS options could come out costing the same as CS meals would've (only with an additional cost of tip).
