If they wanted to wear them as a means of protest, then they should be allowed to do that as well, as long as they were not being disruptive to the school day.

Exactly-as individuals we are still allowed to have our own opinions and beliefs in this country. Thank goodness that we still have individuals that aren't apathetic and just follow along with the crowd. We all don't have to have the same beliefs and just because someone's belief is different doesn't make it wrong.

I suggest you study your history a bit more. I would start with the Mexican-American war and the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

You should also read more about Mexican History, but the side of Mexicans, not only one side, and no, its not propaganda, is what every kid study al school (in Mexico), but let me give you some links, and I suggest you to read them also. Also I link to you the spanish version and the english, so you could see, the difference in information. The american version has NO information at all.

Also I am not responding again to this thread, because a see that there are a lot of hostile people. They want to hear what they want to hear. We as Mexicans know what other cultures think about us, is not a surprise to us, but are you?, I want to tell you something....but then,some people think that they are always right.(I may add that I read some intresting open minded opinions on this thread ,good for them, they wont be surprised if they go to other parts of the world ) . Good luck with the Arizona law ( by the way, it is the head line of the newspaper in Mexico every day) and I read them, as I read the news in USA as well .

So, why is the Mexican government not doing something to provide the proper educational opportunities for these children?

How can you in good conscience, employ their mother as a live-in maid, knowing that there are 5 children living on their own? What are you doing to help these children since you keep their mother in your household?

Or do you think giving the mother a job good enough?

I am helping, her to have a JOB, THAT WAY, SHE WONT BE A PROSTITUTE OR GET IN THE NARCOTIC BUISNESS. What are you doing to help the World?

As other posters have pointed out, Congress has stated that we should not be wearing the flag:

Congress states we shouldn't be wearing A flag. Wearing the image of the flag is perfectly acceptable.

The more I am thinking about these kids and their American flag shirts….Honestly, if they wore the shirts out of spite—GOOD FOR THEM!

How dare you come to MY country, and tell ME I can’t wear MY flag on your special little day

What if I don’t care about Cinco de Mayo? And, really. I don’t It was nice that Corona drafts were only a dollar, but other than that, well, I really don’t care.

What if I am a bit angry that you DARE to think that MY flag in MY country should be tucked away for even one minute

It may not be politically correct, it may not sound educated—But I am so sick of this nonsense

So, if those boys _did_ wear the flag out of spite, good for them. Maybe they are tired of being pushed around by people that want to hang the Mexican flag above the USA flag

Don't EVER tell an American that the cannot wear THEIR country's flag.
