Wow. I have been spending more time than I actually have looking at all of the great creations! I am not even to page 400, but I had to comment and compliment everyone on the beautiful items!! Maybe one day I'll feel confident enough to post the things I've made.

I have a LOT to do for our trip in April, since last time we went to WDW, "mickey" made dd daily outfits, and this time both of my kids are already asking if I could make them instead, lol.

Anyone got any good suggestions for little boy outfits? I have seen the overalls, and they're adorable. I ususally do tee shirt with shorts outfits, but I was thinking about tryig something else for a few of the days.

Anyway, thanks for the inspiration! :worship:  :cloud9:

Welcome! For my son, I love board shorts with an appliqued t-shirt. They are quick and easy and he will acutally wear them outside of disney. I take him to the fabric store (he actually likes it when I don't dawdle too long) and let him pick out his own fabric. I use the same pattern for shorts.

Here are a few:

He is too old for overalls. I can't think of anything else good for boys. Good luck: boys are a lot harder than girls!

THanks!

In did check out photobucket. All I have to say is wow.

I have done embroidered tees and shorts, but I usually make shorter shorts than that. I did overalls one, and he REFUSED to wear them! I usually make him warmer weather stuff, like jackets or hoodies, but I am reall stuck for tis trip...that's why...errrr..."Mickey"....bought him outfits last year.

For dd...ANYTHING to stop making uniform jumpers! She's in public school, so they're lax with the uniform code s long as they're in the right color. So, since one little girl wore a homemade jumper to school, she refuses to wear store bought ones. I'm looking forward to making her some princess stuff again.

In th past, I've done mostly "hippie" style patchwork sewing, so I am always unhappy with my boutique attempts, as they are similar, so I always kean the wrong way. *sigh* I have the skill...it's the realisation I seem to fail at. I'll try to post some pics of the stuff I made for the kids soon...I guess I should take some, huh? ;)

I appreciate the support! Thank you again!

Cute! I love the Tree Of Life top for your son. I'm just limited to Sleep pants for my sons (ages 7 & 9). And black fleece hoodies...so sad. I love all the boy stuff!

I'm wanting to get started on a Pokemon theme for their room. Curtains and comforters equals LOTS of yardage...:scared1: I'll have to wait till I have a great coupon so I can buy a LOT of fabric and not go too broke.

P.S. I just updated my TR in case anyone's bored (shameless plug!)

Hobby Lobby opened a new store about an hour north of me, so I took a ride to check it out. I was a little disappointed in the fabric department...it seemed barren. There was plenty of room for more stock, but the tables were pretty empty. Hopefully its because the store is so new, and maybe in a few months it will be better. I did find some different Christmas fabric, Rebecca will have a new dress, and I want to try my hand at decopage jeans for me. My serger is sick (in the hospital for another week!), so I need projects to work on that won't need nice finished edges. That's a good excuse to get something done for me, right?

What pattern for shorts do you use?

Butterick 3475. I think they all have them, Butterick must have been on sale the day I bought it.

THanks!

I don't know, it seems like all the boys wear their shorts really long. I would like to see your hippie patchwork stuff: it sounds really cool!

Hey! Great minds think alike! I went to Hobby Lobby today too! It's not a new one, but I had a few minutes and wanted to see what they had...I thought the same thing, it seemed barren. I did pick up a couple of things but overall I wasn't impressed...Wah.

Okay, for all of you who have the Brother cs6000i..I just bought it about three weeks ago, and am wondering about the clear embroidery foot....what kind do I get? My JoAnne's doesn't carry anything for Brother and I didn't see any at HL or Walmart. Hancocks' I can get to, but it's about a 30 minute drive one way. Not too bad, but if they don't carry them either I don't want to waste my time. I want to start appliqueing my t-shirts and have read that you guys really recommend having a different foot for that. I used to have a New Home for quilting. It worked fine but didn't have a lot of stitches to it...this one is probably smarter than I am, but I'm giving it a shot anyway...

Thanks! Maggi

Okay guys, I have to apologize! I haven't been able to get on the computer alot lately and I am sooo far behind that I just can't catch up!:scared1: I have been trying to skim through and have seen some amazing things, but I just can't comment on everything and I certainly wouldn't want to leave any one out! I am trying to plan a FIRST birthday party for my dd who will be one on Thursday the 8th. Finish our clothing for our DW trip, start packing because we leave the saturday after Thanksgiving, get ready for Thanksgiving, and attend 3 baby showers and a couple of birthday parties!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I just can't do it all! So I just wanted to vent a little and say how VERY SORRY I am that i haven't been able to comment on how FANTASTIC everything is! hopefully after our trip I can get back on track and start posting and let you all know how much FUN we had! And I will try to post pics if I ever complete any of these darn outfits!:rotfl:

I am hoping for at least low 70's for thanksgiving. last year it was warm and I had to turn on th air conditioning! UGGHHHH! You have family here in Phx?

hehe, maybe we saw each other on our annual Cedar Point visits! When you posted the name of the town where you grew up, I had to do a search for it, and then I had to see how far it was from where I live! I'm a GEEK too!! Well, your hometown is 2 hours and 14 minutes from where I live, according to Google.

That's too funny!:rotfl: My dad said they thought they'd get light snow tonight...so I'm feeling for ya. He hooked up the snow plow to the tractor and everything! Now that's when ya know it's winter.

WHAT A CUTIE!!!! He looks like you!

I don't miss the snow and it hasn't been that long since we saw it!! I would be happy to have weather in the 70's every day of the year!
 Thanks to you, too. It always cheers me up to check the boards!
I hope you start feeling better Heather. I've been lonely here without you!

Here's the plan, if you see snow falling, blow it towards Texas! :cold:

Darling outfits and little one but.....
You DO NOT have your Christmas tree up already????? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I want to make DD some peasant tops. I have seen the Just Tutes one but really would prefer to find an actual pattern. YCMT has a few on there, what patterns has anyone tired?
The portrait peasant top
http://www.youcanmakethis.com/info/featured-products/Portrait-Peasant-Tops-and-Dresses.htm
"How to Make a Peasant top"

I also would prefer one that had both long and short sleeves included.

I've got the peasant top one (not the portrain one) and it is pretty simple to make. I mentioned before though that the sleeve and body lengths were short for my girls.

Thanks! Maggi

I have a similar brother from Costco. None of the "chain" stores had the embroidery foot so I called around to some of the sewing stores that are smaller/privately owned and found one that had the applique/embroidery clear foot. I told them what kind of machine I had (it actually has to do with the shank, not the brand - if they know their stuff they can tell you or you can bring in a foot for them to see - also, I think you can find a picture somewhere on here that tells y ou the difference) and they said they had one that would work. The one I bought was a snap on kind and it was
$9.95. I had tried to applique before without one and it was okay, but this made it so much easier! Good luck finding one, just call around to your local sewing/vacuum stores.

You do a couple craft shows and bam I am 150 pages behind!!!! So I have some catching up to do! I thought I was the Queen of Christmas but I have been dethroned!

When did you put up your tree?

LOL...we put our tree up the week before Halloween. We figured if Wal-Mart & Home Depot could do it, so can we! LOL

Very cute! You have 2 things in the candy cane outfit I was looking for today, but didn't find...overalls and the candycane stripe fabric. I even went to Goodwill to check on overalls, no luck.
Are you showing off, or is your Christmas tree up already?!!!

Dallas has been bugging me since halloween to put it up! He got mad before though when he saw them in the stores. He was like are they confused, it is halloween, not christmas.
