Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 3

Wow...I have been gone for the last three weeks and it seems I have missed such a landslide of posts! We've been on vacation (not Disney :sad1: ) and now getting ready to send the kids back to school next week. We have our Disney trip coming up at the end of September, so I have to get back on the boutique wagon here and churn out my creations for the family. In between all that I'm going to try and catch up and see all the fabulous stuff everyone has been making. Hopefully in a few days I will have some photos of my own to post up. ;)

I do have to ask though...has anyone seen custom girls patent leather shoes? We were in Niagra Falls and I saw this little girl that had black ones with with Alice in Wonderland scripted on the sides and a teacup and playing cards on them. I thought they looked really sharp and for a moment thought just maybe this was a Diser, but considering we were not in Disney, I didn't want to go up and ask. I REALLY wanted to take a pic, but then I thought I might look like some weird child predator or something...so I didn't. :scared:
I've seen the painted dress shoes on you know where and they're adorable! If I can find some cheaper brown or black Mary Jane's I'm going to try it. Search: Boutique Custom Pumpkin Patch Shoes!

<<<Lurker popping in>>>

I just love love love seeing all of these cute outfits! I had to buy all of our customs, because momma here can't sew worth a lick. But you all make it look so fun and *sometimes* easy :)

I'll post our little outfits hopefully tonight. I got some great ideas here and was able to find a couple of the things that some of you ladies mentioned. LadyRob introduced me to the Cinderella shoes and I believe (please forgive me if I am mistaken) that HLAuburn had shown us the cute pirate "don't touch me booty" applique.

We are set to go. DH doesn't understand why our daughter needs an outfit "like that" everyday:rotfl:

The kids know we are going, but the way we are kicking things off are "surprises" from Mickey and Minnie. Sunday night after they go to bed I am going to set out Disney prizes that I have been buying over the course of several months. Some of the things thay can take in their backpack. I'm going to have Mickey and Minnie dolls holding balloons. The kids know that when Mickey comes and brings us surprises "It's our turn!!" They both keep asking "When is Mickey Coming?" and they tell people when Mickey comes "It's our turn to go!" Of course non-disney fanatics just look at me like I'm crazy.

I'll try to post the outfits later on today.

Thanks again and what a wonderful bunch of ladies (and men) that post here. I just love how you all share ideas and openly exchange outfit tips. You should all get a big pat on the back (pat, pat, pat).

Hugs! :flower3:

<<<back to lurkdom>>>
I can't wait to see all of your outfits.

Off Topic Super Cool News-

Dh ok'd "Disney in December Very Merry Christmas Weekend Getaway" OMG!!!! The only catch is sinse we are going on our really big trip in March I have to do this one super cheap! Here is where I need some help. We want to stay at a value resort, 2 base park days, dining plan and attend the Christmas Party.

Any clue how I can do this on a very tight budget? We do not have a Disney Visa (not going to get one either) but we do have AAA.

On Topic-

I need some really super cute Christmas custom ideas. The only thing I want to stay away from are overalls. DD does not fit in them well. The girls are 4T and 12-18 months. See I new I bought all that extra Minnie dot for a reason.

You are SOOOOOO lucky. I was really wanting to go in early December so I have been watching codes and rates for quite a while. Try code ZQH that is with dining and ZQG w/o. From what I heard people are getting value rates at close to $59 a night!!!! I am so mad at DH for not approving our trip, I even found round trip flights for us for $100 a ticket!!!! Well good luck, let me know what kind of rate you get!

I LOVE THIS!!!

Awesome as usual.

Kinda off topic...I revised my sig since the new boutique one came out, is it "legal"? I already have one mark on my permanent record for illegal signature. Also check out my sewing smilely!!!

I'm glad to know I helped. I know how frustrating it is to be stumped on how to do things or (in my case) how to undo things that went awry. LOL I still have times when something happens to mess up a project. I have a few things I did in the past that make me cringe when I see photos of them and cause me to wonder "What was I thinking?" :lmao:

So, here's one of the things I got done this week. I had so much fun putting this together and will definitely be using the string of lights design on other projects. I'm also thinking or other ways to use the idea of tree ornaments.

Wow... Just Wow...

I love it!

okay I cannot figure out where to put the code online. Do I have call and do it over the phone?

Aimee, You can play around with this online and see what's available. At the top of the WDW home page, there is a link for a fall package special. We're going in December and used this code and it really helped. Good Luck!!! BTW, I lurk on this thread religiously and I have a Hannah and a Sophie, too. :flower3:

Three Abby's! Anymore? :dance3:

I'm an Abby! (officially an Abigail to tell the truth ...)

I actually don't know if I'm "allowed" to post over here. I'm 23, don't have kids and don't sew for kids. I sew for myself, but I like following this thread because it's the only sewing related thread I've found on the DIS. I did make my own Belle costume for MNSSHP...

that pic was taken when it was still fairly unfinished, but it's the only pic I have right now ... but I have to say that I was able to wing my petticoat w/o a pattern thanks to the thought process behind the twirly skirts on here! (w/ just rows, not patchwork) so thank you all for that!

Actually I think no. This is why - you are only allowed to have three things linked in. So any smilies that don't come from the disboard list (the one on the right when you type your message), then they are links. So each picture counts as one, and each foreign smilie is treated like a picture. This is what I got dinged for last time. For example, my siggy has all smilies from dis (so no points), one vacation ticker (1 point), and one baby ticker (1 point). Links and words typed count as zero. Does that make sense? If it's changed that would be nice since I want to add more.

So there are about 50 things to check in your siggy:

not more than 50kb

not more than 12 lines

not more than three foreign pictures, tickers, smilies

I'm sure there is more :headache:

That stinks, I just thought that smilies didn't count. So if I get rid of my smilies then I am good?

Yeah, but before you take my word for it check the sig guidelines post. I'd hate to tell you wrong, but that is what I got in trouble for back in March. Good luck! They don't make this simple do they??

Hey ladies and Tom - Here is what I found on the check your siggy post:

The MAIN violations we commonly find are listed below:

1. No more than three images are allowed. All of the following each count as an image: (1) A photo, (2) A Clipart, (3) A Countdown, (4) A 'sparkly' signature, (5) Any non DISboard smilie, (6) Eggs. Note also that WISH images each count toward the maximum of three images allowed.

Thus if you have a sparkly signature line, 2 photos, 3 countdowns, 2 eggs, and 1 WISH, your total image count is 9, or triple the allowed number.

Remember, if you add any type of Holiday decorations to your signature, it all counts toward 3-image maximum.
------------------------------------------------------------
2. No single image may exceed 550 pixels in width nor 200 pixels in height. The old standard was that all images combined must fit within a single 400x400 square. This was changed earlier this year to the current requirement. If you have a signature developed to the old requirements, you need to fix it to meet the current requirements.

The most common item we find are users with an image that is greater than the allowed 200 pixel maximum height requirement. Be sure you check ALL your images in your signature to be sure none of them exceeds 200 pixels tall.
------------------------------------------------------------
3. The TOTAL filespace of all your images combined must not exceed 50KB. (That's 51,200 bytes).

One item we commonly find are uses of animated gifs which can have very large filesizes. If you have an animated gif such as a sparkly signature, or other 'moving' image, be sure you add up all the filesizes for all images. If you have highly detailed photos, it's also easy to exceed the 50KB combined filespace limit.
------------------------------------------------------------
4. The TOTAL number of lines in your signature may not exceed 12. All of the following count as a line: (1) a line of text, (2) a blank line, (3) an image of any kind on it's own line (such as photo, countdown, smilie, egg, etc), (4) any type of spacer such as a dashed line.

The most common item we find here are users with a long vertical list of their WDW trips. Instead of putting all these on separate lines, one on top of the other, it's suggested you put them on one horizontal line going across the page. Many users do this and differentiate the trips by using different colors, etc.

Isn't one of the others that the pictures can't be taller than like 200 pixels (or something like that). At least that's the way that it used to be, so I've always had to adjust my taller pics shorter to make them "fit" the height requirement.:confused3

Thanks for the search, because all I could find was info stating that you could have unlimited smilies, 3 pics, and upto 50KB. All of your help is much appreciated, I wouldn't want to get banned from the DIS!!!:scared1: The funny thing is before I updated my sig I was WAYYYY over on my KB. Oh well..

I love your work. Looks great. As soon as my ruffler foot arrives I am starting a skirt for myself.
