Hi y'all. Use code TWENTY to take an additional 20% off clearance fabrics at fabric.com.

Okay, ladies and gentlemAn - Here are my first couple of creations. They are nothing compared to what some of you can do, but this is my first attempt at sewing since 8th grade home-ec and I'm teaching myself so, not bad. Both of my girls have identical ones, but oldest DD is at school so youngest is my model today and only had enough patience to try on the Winnie the Pooh one on one more time (please excuse the hair - it's cut even and even gets combed once in awhile but she had just woken up). I have plans for a Little Mermaid tiered dress, a Finding Nemo peasant shirt, and a Mickey Mouse Retro fabric (that cool pink fabric from Waldemort (to steal your phrase) to be shirred on the top for a dress with black and white polka dot ruffled fabric on the bottom. I need to stay at the sewing machine, or I won't get it all done even though it's all fairly easy stuff...

So, here goes...

This was my very first creation and it's not perfect, but it's done to steal the popular phrase. Actually, it's not done. I've bought purple ribbon to change out and purple fabric to ruffle or pleat at the bottom as well. It needed more "schmaltz"...

This is the Mickey head pillowcase pattern I used - DD4's is a dress and DD6 wanted a shirt. These will also have a black ruffle added to the bottom of both. This was also my first attempt at appliqueing (sp?). Not bad for my first time if I do say so myself.

The third is one that gave me a little trouble - I tried to follow the instructions for the halter pillowcase dress but I ended up having to fudge my way through and made it a little smaller than I would have liked, but DD4 loves it and that's what matters. DD6's came out pretty much perfect...This picture makes the pleating look off but it's not and the brown on the ribbon is a much better match to the fabric than in the picture:confused3 I'm kicking myself now for not buying brown thread for the hem of the pleats, but I was just anxious to finish it and didn't want to make a run to the store...

Anyhow, thanks for all of your tips and ideas...you have truly inspired me and my girls are now almost as excited about their clothes they are going to wear at WDW as they are about the trip itself. :woohoo:

Your daughters grin tells it all. I think it's great fun to see them get excited about outfits. They feel special. And proud of you to. I made Kirsta the Pluto/poodle skirt and all she can talk about is meeting Pluto while she wears it. I made ressies at 50 Prime time so could wear it there. I guess I can find Pluto somewhere.

It is really funny about her wearing the dress again. DD cried hysterically when we left. I will admit DH and I did not want to go. This is one of the things we did for her. Not to offend anyone . . . the participants of the festival always kind of creeped us out. Well, going with a child really changes everything. Everyone was so nice to us and so thoughtful to DD that we loved it!

DD had such a great time that she cried the whole way to the car. She kept on saying lets do it again now! She fell asleep in the car and was still sad when she woke up. Daddy told her the fest ran for two months and we would go in a couple of weeks. I said would you like to get your hair braided again. She perked up and said yes. Then . . . I said well, Mommy will clean up your dress and you can wear it again.

She said . . .

No, Mommy the King has already seen my dress. I need a new one!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think she deserves one for that answer! I have a month.

Oh yes, any girl (or woman for that matter) that realizes she cannot wear the same dress twice to a simular function needs to be rewarded!!! Plus now you will probably find that missing sleeve!!:rotfl:

So now that you are converted to the Ren Festival...how about Star Wars??? I am holding out hope for you! :hippie:

Here are the keywords:
1) Custom Boutique resell mickey holiday set 12-18M
2) Beautiful Custom Made Cinderella Twirl Skirt Set
3) Custom Boutique MISS MOUSE 4 4t Minnie RESELL

Lisa, I saw number two, but number three dosen't match up, and the keywords that do match, don't look like you work? did the auction end and I missed it? I am now watching number two closely!

Never mind, once I read the next page I saw that someone bought it!

Oh, gosh, are those people in that photo from Playhouse Disney supposed to be the Einsteins???? Are they the same at Hollywood and Vine with dining with the Einsteins???? If they are, I will have to cancel...my DGD loves LOVES the little Einsteins...the cartoon ones with the big heads and all she talks about is eating with the Einsteins when we go in Sept.

I was going to make her an Einstein outfit....anyone know if the characters are real people????

The characters in my picture were from Playhouse Disney Live on Tour, its a show that's touring the US. The characters at Disney will look different, they won't talk, and will be the one's in costumes, not actuall real people, just people in costumes.

Ok, back up here. CastleCreations the skirts your DD's are wearing are adorable. And they are bandanas? Do tell, I think I missed the directions for those and they are so CUTE!!!!!

Please do tell

The skirts take either 2 bandanas, or 4 depending on if you have writing on the edge like I did. But I took each bandana and cut it in half. I sewed the side edges together of all 4 pieces. remember if you cut the bandana in half, you will have 2 pieces from each, and you need a total of 4 pieces. Then gather the top edge, this is the edge where you cut. It should be your only unfinished edge. Anyway I sewed and hemmed a white circle skirt. Then I gathered some tulle and stitched it to the circle skirt, about 2 inches from where the waist would be.
Then I stitched the circle skirt to the bandana skirt that I made. You can either gather it all together or seperately. Because the bandanas already have a hem, there is almost no sewing for the bandanas, other than the side seams.
Then all you have to do is make a waistband, and you're done!

Yep it ended....I was looking for it too....Grrr I usually keep the ones I watch quiet.:rolleyes1 :rotfl: Now I'm regretting asking because I'm sure everyone is watching...:rotfl:

So I finally have something to share. I didn't make it (still can't sew) they came in the mail but they are so cute I just wanted to share.

Can she wear Crocs? My DD wears her Crocs to school almost everyday.

I wish she could. They are afraid they will fall off. I have snuck her mary jane crocks on her with jeans and socks, but it kind of de-feets..:lmao: the purpose...She complained this morning about wearing shoes...we wear flip-flops almost every day...our feet are spoiled...

Those are SO cute! Did you get them on eBay? Would you mind PMing me the seller(s)? Thanks! I love them both! :thumbsup2

LOL...I get it here too. My oldest is now in high school, and she was thrilled that flip flops are allowed there. They all wear them, and I felt like a terrible mom last year during one of our few cold snaps and she wouldn't give in to tennies. When I fussed about this to her grandparents in Maine, they just laughed because they saw bare toes at the bus stop near their house, and it was only 19 degrees.

Aimee, I was wondering how you all did at faire. It was far too hot for me to be roaming around in velvet and a steel boned bodice (a.k.a. feat of civil engineering.) Bodice chiller or not it was too too hot for me, ever since having DD, the heat is too much for me. But on the bright side, I've got a killer pirate costume.

The gentlemen that play King Henry and Robin Hood are great people. I'm so glad your daughter had a great time. She looked like she was enjoying herself.

I found one more but only the jeans are "familiar"

Cinderella Hand-painted Jeans + Disney Top 4/4T

(I don't paint much any more.)

I just bought that Miss Mouse 4 4t Minnie set. That is stunning! After my meager attempt at applique yesterday, I KNOW that the work on Minnie alone was worth that price. Thanks for posting the keywords.

I hope you enjoy it! When I look at it now I wish I'd done some applique on the top but after Minnie, the letters and then ALL those hearts, I ran out of steam on the applique. LOL

As far as the bandannas go - I love them! Can anyone tell me what section in Walmart they would be in?

At our local store they are near the hats, purses, umbrellas, etc. It seems an odd place but I don't know where else they might fit better.

I am now watching number two closely!

I felt bad for the seller because she didn't use "boutique" or "resell" in her listing - both of which I consider critical keywords used by all experienced with custom boutique.

this is adorable  - very eye catching and although it is very similiar to others things shown here (mickey head shirt, twirl skirt) it is sooo different....I am sure it will get lots of raves when it is worn !!!!

Please don't feel too bad for her! i want it!! Hee hee I'm off to bid right now! I have a pair of hand painted overalls that are Cinderella themed hanging in my daughters closet. I might have to get them out and post a picture here. I think I won them for 18.00 bucks.
