Teresajoy - thanks so much for posting all of those patterns!! That was very nice of you! :)

All of the sewing terms were lost on me, though!! :lmao: I guess I will have to go to Joann's and spit out $100 for the 2 sewing classes !!

There is also a link for online sewing tutorials. :)

I put it under Sewing/techniques

At the suggestion of teresajoy, I have added a link to my OP with the photobucket link generously prepared by pixiedust_in_ak as well as the link to the online patterns prepared by teresajoy.

This will hopefully allow everyone easy access to these links.

Thanks and keep them coming!!!:cool1:

Thanks for doing that!

We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with dinner at Fort Wilderness. Has anyone made any Mickey inspired Thanksgiving outfits? (It's the eat outdoors - so nothing too fancy) Looking on ebay I found a set of overalls with a turkey on them - what if the feathers were made of Mickey colors and the turkey had on ears???? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hi. I have been reading this for days. I am so impressed and motivated. Is there a pattern or instructions for the twirly skirt on here?? I have been reading for days and haven't found it or where to find one. I have started a few projects and will post them when done. Everything I have seen is adorable!!!!! TIA--- Mindy:goodvibes

One more question--- Where is everyone getting all the adorable mickey fabrics??? I am a newbie at sewing if you can't tell but LOVE all of these ideas and patterns!!! Thanks again--- Mindy

Hi all. I love all the work you girls are doing. We are from Australia and are travelling to WDW October 6th to 18th. I have a DD 5. My question is what will the weather be like then. I really like the outfits that have been made with the 3/4 capris denim pants and the matching patch work top with dots and flowers on it (sorry not sure how to post photos of them) it is under girl Minnie n Mickey n dots outfits and is photo number 100 0564. But don't know if they will be ok at that time of the year. Any information on what you think would be great, then I will try and find the fabric down under and beg my mum to start making for us. Thanks in advance for any help

For thanksgiving we just do a fall themed pair of overalls. If you want to incorporate mickey on it then the turkey idea sounded cute. I have never made it disney, even though we go each Sept/Oct now. He does normally wear them one day at disney, usually a fort wilderness ride the pony, go on the hayride and watch a movie day. You could also do a mickey shaped pumpkin in with others, kind of a hidden mickey style.

Most of my fabric comes from walmart, Joann's every once in a while or I order online at Hancock's or from ebay. Patterns usually come from JoAnn's when the have a sale for $1.99 or less. The other day I got anxious and got one from walmart. (for the shorts, twirl skirts, etc)

For applique patterns I use any source I can, books, coloring books, posters, etc. Hope this helps.

Hi! Welcome to the thread!

There are free instructions to make twirl skirts here: http://sew-whats-new.com/CMS/content/view/211/46/ here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/70038/make_your_own_boutique_twirl_skirt.html and here: http://www.kukyideas.com/journal/2006/07/tiered-skirt-tutorial.html Unfortunately, none of them are the *patchwork* variety which seems to be popular, but you can probably figure out how to turn it into a patchwork skirt. (I'm working on one now.)

The places that seem to be popular for purchasing Disney Fabrics are JoAnn's, Wal-mart, Hancock Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, the Rag Shop and, of course, eBay. Good luck finding something you like. :)

I sorta learned to appliqué this week and have been working on a pirate outfit for DS. It was a lot of fun! Some areas are kind of rough, but he loves it and that's what matters, right!? I think the shirt might be a little small - I used a new pattern and although his weight/height fall in the size 5 range, I think it looks small. May have to make him a 6 - hopefully I can find more fabric. I also used an older pair of jeans just in case I seriously messed them up, so they look a little ratty. Oh well.

All in all, though, I think it turned out ok

And, since I don't know how to do the multi-quote thing and I've been gone a few days, I must just say that all the new outfits are adorable! Awesome job, everyone! I especially love the Jojo skirt!

I REALLY LIKE this! I think I bought this fabric for my DS. I'm planning on making him a short outfit for the Pirate & Princess Party in August. I may steal your Pirate Mickey that you have on the back.

We went that same time last October and were hot. The last few days it made it into the high 90's. We wore shorts and short sleeved shirts the entire time. Supposedly, it was abnormal to be that hot, but it is usually in the 80's.

I am not sure if anyone posted these yet but I finally found free no sew tutu instructions. I have not tried it yet but it seems really easy. If anyone wants these please email for the link as I do not want to get in trouble.

I also made my first set of boutique bows tonight to match DDs safari outfit (made by castle creations) and I am so happy. i have no idea when I will get pics up due to my pc camera problem that is ongoing. i have so much to post that when I do I will give you all overload. i have the altered walmart dress and coordinating outfit for DS and altered camo overalls from kmart for both DD and DS---I turned DDs into a dress. I also made my first fringe braclet that matches an outfit i have for MGM. This tread and obsession are taking over my life! Because I made the braclet and bows poor DH had tomake dinner after he got home from work because i lost track of time. thank goodness he loves Disney and understands my obession (kinda)

could you please pm or email me lilterp@hotmail.com w. the no sew tutu direcitons? thanks!

It looks like I may have to start over with the shirts for the Wiggles Live outfits. :sad1: My mom took the shirt that I had finished appliqueing and she was going to put the zipper in for me. There's been alot of drama between us lately and I posted about it on the CB. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1503159

In a nutshell, my mom has allowed my younger sister to disrespect our home, and when we said something to her about it, my mom then continued to disrespect me by lying, and even worse she disrespected my DD14 with her lies.

I'm not about to ask her for the shirt back. I'd rather just start over with a new one. :guilty:

Where in Austrailia are you from? My very best friend in the whole world, lives there and we are planning a trip soon. She lives in Charters Towers, QLD... I send her Disney care packages every so often...:rotfl:

Hi, I haven't read all that's been going on with you, but I can feel your pain.
Maybe you can break into her house and steal it back :rotfl:
