One night while DH and I are there, we would like to spend a few hours at Jelly Rolls. I know this is on the Boardwalk. Are there any kids clubs there where we can take DD9 where she can have a few hours of kid fun while we have a few hours of adult fun? While I think she would get a kick out of the dueling piano's, I'm pretty sure I read that it was 21 and older. Suggestions from anyone?

Hello!

Yes, if you are staying at a WDW hotel, you can check your child into one of the kid's clubs. I think there is one at The Boardwalk Inn. They take reservations, so if you already have a time in mind, you may want to call ahead and make a ressie. I have never had a problem just walking in with my DD, but I usually go during a slow season. The BWI Kids Club may get busy because people may want to have their kid's in a nearby club if they are doing any special events for the F&W Fest.

My DD loves the kid's club's and begs to go there. DH and I always have one "date" night when we go as a family to WDW. We check her in, and go have cocktails and a nice dinner. When we go to pick her up she begs to stay...and if it wasn't $10 an hour I would let her stay all night! LOL! In Oct we plan to go to Blue Zoo one night (in the Dolphin) and you can leave your kid for 2 hours FREE at "Camp Dolphin" if dining at Blue Zoo or Shula's. just something to keep in mind!

I thought you had to be a guest of that particular resort to have your kids go to the kid's club.

Hi Zandy!

Nope...it is wonderful...sometimes we go to AKL from whatever resort we are staying at, to have drinks at Victoria' Falls and eat at Jiko. We check DD into Simba's so she is "on site" with us.

You do get a beeper that works all over WDW property plus you can leave your cel phone number.

When we called for Nov 21 reservations we were told the Boardwalk kids club was closed but we could use Beach Club. If you are staying at a Disney Resort you can book 90 days ahead if not there is a different reservation date. (sorry can't remember the day)

Okay, my daughter is a very "mature" :rotfl2: 3 1/2 year old. I know the kids clubs state that the child must be 4 years old. Is this enforced? I don't want to break the rules, but my child is very accustomed to preschool, etc... and would be fine. Her 5 year old sister would be with her.

Thanks Mitch for that info! That actually will affect my trip in Oct...good to know the BC will be open.

livefor-Hmmmm...I guess you could try. I am always uncomfortable with that kind of stuff, I am afraid the CMs will get to talking with her and find out her real age. Also, remember they have all your info in the computer, so they might notice if you are not paying for her at buffets or in the room or for park admission. I don't know how "big brother" the WDW system is, but I think they keep track of all that stuff. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I'vd read on other threads that they are very strict about the age. It is actually a legal issue about caregiver to child ratio.

Thanks for the info guys. We're staying at CSR but want her close to us basically so we don't have to travel the entire "state of Disney" to take her to a kids club, go where want, retrieve her then back to the resort. We leave in 2 weeks so I'll get on the phone this week and try to make a ressie for her. Thanks again guys.

Thanks for the info. I never knew you could do that. Which resorts have kid's clubs? Just the deluxes? So every Disney resort guest is allowed to use them? We usually stay at the values and were never given this information.

It is a state liscensing issue. The state of florida says that these clubs can take age 4 and up. To take younger kids would require a different certification with different requirements for caregiver to child ratios and so forth.

Zandy-Yes, you can use any kid's club at any WDW resort if you are staying at a value resort. I am sure there is a complete list on Deb Will's site. I am not sure if I am allowed to post the address, so PM me if you want and I will give it to you.

Or,,,maybe someone can post a link? I am sorry, but I do NOT know how to post a link!

My DD has stayed at the WL and AKL kid's clubs. I know there is one at the Poly (Neverland Club) that is supposed to be the "best" one, at least that is what I have heard. There is one at the GF, but I heard of some restrictions on that one. Can't remember what the restrictions were...that one might have been for GF guests only.

Apparently the Boardwalk club is closed, but the Beach Club has one. Also the Dolphin...hmmm, I am sure I am missing a few...but there are plenty.
