Kids clubs at resorts

Do you have to be a guest at the resort that offers those kids clubs? For example the Poly.

Hubby and I are thinking of a night out, both kids are old enough to attend but we are staying at FQ and are kind of uncomfortable using the in room daycare.

Can we take them there? And do they require reservations??

No, you don't have to be a guest at the Poly to use the kid's club. The Neverland Club is wonderful. My children never want to leave when we come to pick them up!

Do make reservations ahead of time. They will give you a pager in case they need to get in touch with you.

You can use any of the WDW child cares.

General advise is to reserve a spot for your child (especially at Neverland Club). The word is that places can/do fill up. For the reservation they will want to know the hours you're planning too.

Thanks. That helps a lot. How far in advance can you reserve?

ETA:
What other kids clubs are there besides the one at the Poly?

I went to the Neverland Club when I was 9 years old (I'm 22 now) and STILL remember it to this day! (note: I remember hardly anything about that trip other than the neverland club and riding BTMRR 11 times in a row with my mom close to park closing).

They let us nap, fed us, let us use the video games for free, had movies, had characters come and everything! :flower:

You can book the kids club 90 days out by calling 407-WDW-DINE. My DS 4 went to the Cub's Den at WL and had a great time while we went to the GF for dinner. I think the others are at the GF, BC, AKL. I think I heard the one and CR closed.

My DD has stayed at Simba's (AKL) and Cub's Den (WL) a few times and BEGS to go there each trip. If it wasn't $10 and hour, I would leave her there all night! LOL (I am only half kidding, too!)

I think it is nice to have your child at whatever resort you are hanging out at. If you are planning on eating at the Poly, then bring your child to the Neverland Club. But I have heard that it fills up fast, so make advance reservations. We never make reservations when we have taken DD to Simba's or Cub's, but then again, we go in the slow season.

Hope this helps!

Oh so there is a cost attatched to it. I figured there would be but wasn't to positive. So is it 10/hr per child? And is that the going rate for all the resorts or are some more than others?

I believe they are all the same rate.

I want to clarify something posted earlier though--the kids club at the GF can only be used by GF guests. I'm pretty sure it's becaues it's VERY small, only can take 12 kids or something along those lines.

If you are going at a slower time of year and want to use it to dine at Citrico's or V&A's, if you call directly a few days in advance and they are wide open they will sometimes make exceptions.

Cobbler-Yes, $10 an hour, and they open at 5 pm (or is it 4:00?) And they serve a choice for dinner...like PB&J, or chicken tenders. the kids do crafts, play video games, watch movies.

ducklite-Thanks for posting that about GF...I did not know that!

We've used the one at GF when we were staying at VWL. We had dinner at Narcoose's, so I don't know if that made a difference.

My kids are also Neverland Club alumni......Every trip we've had to schedule a night out for THEM! (of course, we don't object) We have never stayed at the Poly, mostly go to a timeshare, and yet you can still utilize the club, but it's not cheap!
They are very very very upset they can no longer attend, they're 11 and 12 now.....What a sad end to an era :sad2: but many awesome memories for them.

The kids club are for children ages 4-12. The child must be potty trained. The hours are 4:30-12:00. The rate is $10/hour/per child. Includes dinner when dropped off by 6:30.

My daughter said the carbohydrate buffet at the Neverland Club included: chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, fries, tator tots, and chocolate pudding.

At Simba's clubhouse, we had to check off on a short menu what they would order from Mara's for our child.

Of all of the kids clubs, ours like the Sandcastle Club at Beach Club the best. They have tried all of the others and this one is the biggest and has the best variety of toys. In addition, they have the video games that the kids like.

They are 11 and 8 now, and are still begging to go there at least one night. Well, darn it, I guess DH and I will have to sacrifice and go out for a night on our own! LOL

Hello,
is there a kid's club that takes asd children? Our son is autistic. He is aged 8 and is non-verbal although a very good communicator. He would be accompanied by his 13 and 8 year old brothers. We would just love one evening to ourselves.

I'm not sure about the answer to your question. That would be a good one to ask when you call for reservations. I can't imagine with all the children they get in these clubs that this is something they haven't dealt with before.

Your 13 year old is over the age limit.

I don't know about autism, but I have seen a parent give the CM an insulin filled syringe for her diabetic son. It is worth looking into.

In this case, you may want to try to contact the other sitting services to see if they can accomodate. Fairy Godmothers is one of those services and there are several reviews posted here.

Thanks everyone for your help. Our boys will be 4.5 and 8 so this will be great. Big brother can help watch little brother too.

We have left over plusses from our tickets in 2000 and would like to go to Pleasure Island or something :)

Thanks again everyone!!!

The club at:
Beach Club: Disney resort guests only
Swan & Dolphin: Only guests of those resorts.
GF: As mentioned only GF guests w/ a 2 hour minimum.
AKL, WL and Poly seem open to all (Poly has open house noon-4 for Poly guests only).

Cheers.
