I was looking over the navigators and it looks like my daughter will be too old for the Goofy's Gala when we go on our Easter cruise. She will be 8 years old. I have heard DISers say that the activities for the 8-9 (10?) year olds are better than the 5-7 year olds. It probably would not be a good idea to keep DD in the younger group just for one activity but she has been watching the DCL video and thinking how cool that would be to go to the club in PJ's with goofy. I am sure that they will probably not allow her to go to just one activity in the lower group, right? Is the goofy gala as much fun as it looks? Any info is appreciated!

My DS (7 at time of cruise) enjoyed the Goofy Gala, but I don't think it's worth dropping DD into lower age category. Goofy was there for a short time only. After the kids colored their pillowcases, he came by to check each one out then left. If your child really likes Goofy, he was at the character breakfast, autograph session, and at night once or twice.

I agree, do not keep put her in the lower age group just for that activity! Goofy's Giggle Gala is fun for the younger kids, true, but not worth switching her entire age grouping over. The 8-9s have their own fun activities as well. :D

I HAVE A SIMILAR CONCERN MY DD6 IS A BIG SNOW WHITE FAN AND WOULD LOVEEEEE DANCING WITH SNOW WHITE OFFERED IN THE 3-4 GROUP CAN SHE GO? I AM A LITTLE DISSAPPOINTED WITH THE 5-7 OFFERINGS TOO SERIOUS ( FUN WITH GASES!) FOR 6 YR OLDS ON VACATION !

The older group also appears to have fun activities that night, something about "glow in the dark" that sounded fun to my-then-to-be-nine-year-old. Anyone have experience?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the "fun with gasses" activity is where the kids get raisens to dance in a glass with water and something else which makes a gas. My dd wouldn't go to the Disney Dreams show which happened to be at the same time because she was having too much fine. Believe me, I was really trying to get her to leave because I knew the show was going to be great, but she insisted on staying. I guess the activity isn't too boring! By the way, my dd was 7 years old at the time. She also loved making flubber and dancing with the club in Studio Seas.
