Kids club checkout and taking kids off ship

I did a search and most of the results were kids checking themselves out. Thats not what I was looking for.

My question is I booked two staterooms for our upcoming cruise. DH and 2 kids are in 1 room and me and 2 adult kids in another. There's only one child of ours this pertains to and its the 5 year old. Since she is in DHs stateroom, how will I be allowed to check her out of the kids club and/or take her off the ship?

Question #2, my DS16 will be in DHs stateroom but he's legally mine (from previous marriage). Will I need to have a form filled out by DH for him also to take my son off the ship?

Im sure this wont matter what cruise but its a Mediterranean cruise just in case.

You can go to Guest Services and they will give you a form that will allow you to take children not in your cabin off the ship.
The adult in the cabin the child is assigned to needs to sign the form.
Children under the age of 18 are only allowed off the ship with the adult in the cabin they are assigned to. Regardless of who the parent is.

A few FYI's - while you are at Guest Services can get extra key cards so you can open the cabin you are not assigned to.
Your family can sleep in which ever cabin you want but you will need to go to the lifeboat drill of the cabin you are assigned to.
Everyone will need their key card to get off and on the ship at every port. Be sure it's the card with their name on it and not one of the extras.

Have the required forms signed and either one of you can take them off the ship. My grandson will be in my room and we'll fill out the forms so that anyone in either cabin has authorization.

Wow, good to know! I didn't even think about getting off the ship. So if my husband has two of our kids in one state room and I have the third in my stateroom, is there anything he can sign? Or do you mean he physically has to get off the ship with them? Also does he have to be there when we get back on? I'm thinking of when we (maybe wthout him) just want to go shopping in Nassau Or on Castaway Cay when we have different schedules. B2B so two of these scenarios.

You can fill out a form at guest services that will allow you to take both the kids off and on as well. No need to fret.

Thanks for the input. I knew there was a form for my son if he wanted to leave the ship with Vibe on a Vibe only excursion but wasnt sure on our youngest. This is great to know all we need is a form.

We have connecting rooms and will ask for key cards to swap for rooms but will more than likely just keep the door between rooms open.

As far as kids' club access, that is not directly related to who is in the cabin. When you register your kids for the club/lab, you will need to choose a password, and you can indicate who will have permission to sign them out. As long as your husband is listed and knows the password you entered, he can pick up the kids.

That's why you need to sign the form
One more FYI: at the ports as you get off the ship scan the adult key card first then the kids. Because the kids have to have an adult to get off. It just saves a few seconds getting off the ship.

As for the OP, you and your husband will each need to sign the form at Guest Services authorizing the "other" parent to take the kids off the ship. If the whole family goes together for an excursion it shouldn't be an issue, but in the shopping scenario it would be necessary.

FYI - the form is only necessary for getting OFF the ship, as far as I understand (unless the rules are different for different ports). That was true in Castaway Cay - my parents took my kids back on while DH and I went to Serenity Bay. I did not fill out the form (had never anticipated a reason to need to), double-checked it would be fine at the information stand kinda in between the shops and lunch area, and it was totally fine. They had their keys with them, of course, but that was all they needed to get back on. I have to imagine that's always the case, b/c they made about a million announcements about needing the form to get off the ship if it was an adult not in the room with the child - but never ever said anything about getting back ON the ship.

Just wanted to add that you can print this ahead of time from the website and sign it before your cruise, then you just turn it in at GR once you get on the ship. Very easy to do, you just list stateroom numbers of the adults who are allowed to take the kids off the ship. Have a great time!
