Hello everyone. My wife and I leave for WDW in three weeks! Can't wait to go! We have not been since April 2000. Anyway, we have an 8 month old now. We have been wondering which rides he can go on. Here is what we think he can do:

Small World and Pooh.

Are we correct in this and what rides can we take him on?

We we've been there a couple times this past year. Last October, our youngest was 15 months. I think you'll be able to take an 8 month old on anything that doesn't have a height limit. That would include Small World, Pooh, Peter Pan, Dumbo, Cindy's Merry-go-round, Tomorrow Land Transit Authority, Buzz Light Year, etc. Some of those rides can be dark, but our experience with our 3 kids is that the dark doesn't start to bother them until they get older. Interestingly though, the one ride that bothered our 15 month old was Buzz Light Year....it has lots of flourescent colors. I've talked to other people whose kids absolutely loved that ride because of the colors, but we had the opposite experience.....we even tried it with him a few times because it was our 8 year old's favorite ride.....we were thinking maybe he was just tired the first time, but we got the same reaction later. Anyway, have a great time!

We brought our DS at 5 mos and 8 mos. He can go on any ride that has no restriction basically. In addition to above we went on Jungle cruise, PoC, HM, Timekeeper (closed?), WDW railroad, Living seas, spaceship earth, Living with the land, Mexico, The great movie ride, shows..... I agree with buzz about the dark and scary factor....they are too young to know the difference at 8 mos. We leave in 2 weeks and DS is now 15 mos, I think it will be a different story now. Have a great time!

Please be aware that many of those unrestricted rides can be quite bumpy. Snow White in particular is very jerky. And you "bounce" along on the Pooh ride. If you're prepared and your child doesn't mind, it can be a lot of fun. If you're not sure how baby will react, try starting off with smoother rides like Small World or Dumbo. And do note that very small children can slip out from under some of those safety bars on rides like Peter Pan.

Be informed - talk to CM's, or people exiting the ride, if you're not sure about what a ride is like. Be safe and have a great time!
