Aaaand the bane of picky eating rears it's ugly head again.

Here's the deal, I ponied up for deluxe dining this time and I realized that there's really not any appetizers at the ADRs I booked that I'm interested in. It's really not a huge deal to me to not order that part of the meal, I upgraded to deluxe for the additional meals and since I started with free dining, it wasn't a big deal. So to get to the point, has anyone had luck ordering a kid's appetizer in lieu of someone off the adult menu? I see a lot of places offer fruit.

I'm going solo so it's not like I have someone else to split something or just give something to, and I truly doubt the restaurants would let me "gift" the appetizers to a neighboring table.

I can't say that I've done this but I'm pretty sure if you wanted chicken noodle soup or carrot sticks in lieu of a pricy app, they would let you, probably charge you. Where are you dining that none of the apps appeal to you?

You're not required to order the appetizer if you don't want it. I realize you are paying for it by prepaying for the deluxe plan but if you are not going to eat the appetizer, you don't need to order it. You can always ask if they will provide an alternative; that's going to be up to the restaurant.

I figured they couldn't MAKE me order something, but I'm hoping they'll let me sub in something from the kids menu. If not, it's not a big deal, just kind of something I was curious about.

I'm a very very picky eater. I noticed that so much of the appetizers (at least where I'm eating) is either seafood which I don't eat any of, or salads which I'm also not a fan of.

My meals look like this

9-10 Lunch at POP
Dinner at 50's PT- the only appetizer I'd maybe be interested in here would be the onion rings but it says they're for 2. I'd get them if they allowed me to do a single serving.

9-11 Breakfast at Captains Grille- no app there
Lunch at Casey's Corner OOP (I'm a sucker for the corn dog nuggets)
Dinner at Artist Point- I know the menu changes seasonally here, so I'm hoping something might pop up that's different by September. I could get the cheese platter but I'm actually a cheesemonger and can get those cheeses pretty much whenever I want. I would be up for trying the lacquored pork belly but on a purely experimental basis. It could very well end up that I'd take one bite of the darn thing.

9-12 Breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe
Lunch at Beaches and Cream- no app there
Dinner at Coral Reef- nothing on there app menu appeals to me at all, but I believe I saw fruit on the kid's app menu.

9-13 Breakfast at Whispering Canyon- no app.

DW subbed kids desserts a few times, so I'd imagine you'd have little trouble getting the kids app at most locations.

Though Artists Point has the best appetizers. The smokey portobello soup is amazing. I'd live to try the pork belly ( pork belly is simply thick cut bacon).

If you don't like seafood, not sure why you'd pick coral reef at Epcot when there are so many other choices.

I like bacon, which is why I'd be willing to try the pork belly. A lot of my issues are texture things.

As far as Coral Reef, I get the steak and I like the atmosphere.:confused3 Same reason I went to Flying Fish.
