Kids and names...parents, think twice!

I kinda think it's unavoidable being called by your brother or sisters name.

I have two boys.............Jadyn & Lachlan...............at times I even call them by the wrong name....

But the school thing.....well in yr 4 Lachlan had the teacher had the previous year when he was in yr 4...She wasn't real nice, but she kept calling Lachlan.........Jadyn, Thomas, Tom, Tim.........you name it.......everything but his own name. He was so MAD..

So I told him not to answer to anything other than his name. She knew his name, but did this on purpose. He just said to her, that his name is Lachlan & nothing else but Lachlan & that is the only name he will answer to.......Took a while but she got the message loud & clear:D

I was constantly called Diane when I was younger because of my Mom. Even Now I get the occasional Diane. I just roll my eyes....What is worse though is when people say "Hey Denise Where's the Nephew?"

My older sister's name is Debbie & we've always joked that Mom should have named us La-Debbie & De-Laura:p

I have 4 boys, all J's, and I always find myself going down the list until I get the right name!! :teeth:

My MIL is forever calling my DH by his younger brother's name. LOL
And, of course, she always mixes up my 3 SIL's names! :teeth:

The funniest thing happened when I was in Jessica's class last week, helping out. The teacher was talking to the class and mentioned something that "Jeana's mom" was going to do! The class just kind of look stumped. I laughed and said "Today, I'm Jessica's mom!";)

I guess it could be worse...she was also Kirk's teacher!!:p Now THAT really wouldn't sit well!!:bounce:

ROFL--My younger sister Kelly and I have always told our mom and dad the same thing. We should have been Am-Kelly and Kel-Amy.

The sad thing is, I now always inadvertently call Kelly (who's 24) by my oldest DD's name, Emily. I guess because they have about the same level of maturity;) .

Don't feel like a bad mom.......My mom would call me "Happy"......That was our dog's name.    !!

Like others on this thread, I don't think that it matters whether the names start with the same letter or not. My name is Bob and my older brother was Tommy. I couldn't count the times that I was called Tommy and often even by our mother. It never seemed to bother me. I usually just answered to it and would add, "Oh, by the way, I'm the other one."

My parents had Vicki, Trish, and Sandy. We were always called by each other's names. Especially by Dad. :teeth: Sheesh...if I'm not fully focused I'll call Richard Max and Max Richard. (Max is the dog.)
