Kids and Hoeny, I shrunk the audience

How were your kids during this 3d movie? I'm concerned about my 3 yr. old with this attraction.

We went to WDW last year with with my nephews age 2 and 5. They did not like the 3D shows because they thought the shows were too loud. The shows aren't really scary, but they can be too loud if your child has an adversion to loud noises. I would suggest getting some ear plugs at Walmart in case your child thinks the show is too loud.

DO NOT take your three-year-old into this attraction, IMO. It has a giant snake that leaps out at the audience (in the movie) and everytime I have gone that's when the screeching from kids start (and the parents start hustling them out). TRUST ME. If you have ANY doubts, DON'T DO IT.

I agree with NASUS - the snake is quite intimidating. My DD9 does not scare easily and she does not like the snake - she closes her eyes when it is about to appear!

I had to carry my almost 3 year old DD about 1 minute into the show. She didn't like loud noises this trip. Hands over ears for HM, PoTC and Wishes. We hope this is just a short faze!
I'd skip it if I were you. There is a nice area where the theater lets out that has the jumping water and Figment's shop that has some benches and shade to wait for the rest of your party if they want to go.

My son didn't like the mice and it is loud. But, I think lots of attractions are too loud.

I agree with everyone else that the 3D shows should be skipped with a 3yo. We tried a couple of these when my DS was that age and he was afraid of just about all the inside rides the rest of the trip. He would stand in line asking over and again if he would have to wear the "funny glasses" on this ride.

We are going with 3.5YO DD and I will not be taking her on HIStA. However, if you've never seen it, trade off with someone and see it, it is the best 3D at Disney.

Even worse for little ones is the Bug's Life show at AK! If you want to try and 3D show, start with either Philharmagic @MK or Muppets@DS.

HISTA is our least favorite of the 3-D shows. It is also quie loud. We just don't like the story all that much. IF your child is afraid of snakes they probably won't like it. If they aren't afraind of snakes or loud noises then they might be okay, espcially if you can warn them about it ahead of time.

Bug's Life seems to be the worst for little kids.

I would do C B Jamboree, VotLM, Muppet vision 3-D, and/or Philarmagic first, if you can, and see how those go.

It always helps to give kids a heads up, tell them there will be noises and water squirts. It also helps to have the child sit in your lap. That way they won't feel the special effects in the seat. If you can figure out where the water squirts from (Look at the seat in front of you) and block that spot, then that will also help reduce the shock factor - though the child might be wondering why everyone else is reacting. The child can also always reduce the effects by taking the glasses of or closing their eyes. Maybe try going in without the glases, and then again with them. I think part of the fear factor for many kids is not knowing what to expect, if they get a partial exposure, and then know wht to expect, they will most likely face the attraction (and others) the second time around with less concern.

I don't even like HIStA or ITTBAB because the bugs, snake, lion, etc freak me out! I wouldn't try it with a little one, even if the kid has thick skin. The whole 3D aspect can just be too much on them. I've even heard kids screaming in Muppets 3D show, and might be the most tame of all the 3D shows!

I agree that the noise factor alone might be too intense for kids under 5. The only show like this that my 4 year old DGD likes is The Little Mermaid.

Having said that however, the thing that causes me the most concern for little ones on this attraction is the absolute frenzy that occurs OUTSIDE of the actual attraction.

In my opinion, this is the worst managed line of any attraction at WDW. I'm hoping it has improved since our last visit, but at Christmas, the Fast Pass line was a joke with both lines plus the handicap line merging near the entrance with absolutely NO clear identifications as to which line was which.

As a result, the ensuing confrontations that occurred while we were in the FP line were plentiful and disgraceful due to all of the line jumping, cutting, pushing, shoving and arguing. At one point, it appeared as if a fist fight was actually going to break out, but thankfully due to some people with sense, it didn't.

The same problem continues when they open the theater doors after the preshow and adults once again, attempt to stampede the theater to get first choice of seats with utter disregard for who they trample. I was holding onto my DGD for dear life.

Simply disgraceful and we won't be returning to this attraction unless some major improvements have or will be made to ensure the safety of guests.

My DD went into this attraction at age 4 and was hustled out after winding up on DH's lap after the snake and went hysterical after the mice.

We tried her again, at age 6-ish, same result. And she really isn't scared of much. Does every ride, ever rollercoaster...etc.

Now 10, she won't even consider it.

We went to all of the 3D shows, and this was my youngest son's (four at the time) least favorite of them all. My nine year old watched the show without his 3D glasses, because he knew the snake was going to come out at him.

Although, just today, three months after we got home, my youngest was asking me in a very excited voice, if I remembered the show where the dog drooled on us, and he was just laughing and laughing.

I remember taking my DD to this show when she was 3. I don't recommend it. The snake is what did it for her. When that thing struck out well, you would of thought we socked her! She slid off her chair, jumped up in Dh arms and sobbed. By pass this one, Philhamagic should be ok and I think (can't remember anything terrible) the Muppets.

My DD is 7 and went into HISTA when she was 5. She hated it! During her second trip in August of this year, she told me that was the one attraction she would NOT do. Instead, she went on Rockin' Roller Coaster. LOL! Twice! That girl makes no sense. LOL!
