For those of you who have your kids carry fanny packs, what do you (or they) put into them? I have one for each kid but am wondering what all to put in them.

I guess it really depends on what they need-if anything. When mine were younger they carried a small autograph book, a pen and DS carried his inhaler for his asthma. As the kids got around the 8 years old marker, they didn't want to carry anything-not even their own cameras. DS puts his inhaler in his pocket and I carry $ and passes-and am the family photographer, so we nixed the fanny packs.

Disposable camera, chapstick, little fan, gameboy or something to do in line.:goodvibes

My boys want to carry fanny packs. This will be there first trip, but we are planning for them to carry... disposable camera, autograph book, fat pen, and something to distract them in line. They want to carry money, but I think I am going to keep it with me. They will also be wearing or carrying their pin lanyards.

We packed small snacks in each fanny pack. DS6 is on the autism spectrum and he likes the security of snacks he is familiar with and I think it calms him to have a small break and a snack. I'd put a combination of granola bar, raisins, juice snacks, fruit roll-up, nuts and change it up a bit each day. Also helped save $$, very rarely asked for snacks which can add up in the parks.

We also got those small plastic key tags (avail. in hardware stores to label keys) and put our name, cell phone number and resort name just in case. Kids knew if they got "lost" to show it to any CM and they would call Daddy.

My kids carried small snacks (granola bars, bags of nuts, etc.) and any small souveniers they couldn't wait to buy. They also carried their own ponchos. We bought the lightweight kind from Target. They were small enough to fit into the kid's fanny packs so I didn't have to carry them all in my bag. They also carried pairs of stretch gloves in case it got cold at night (we went in December).

Snack, juice box, camera in a plastic bag, autograph book and fat pen, pressed pennies they got that day, and a mini fan.

My ds also carried a walkie-talkie in his fanny pack as our set has 3 handsets. it was great to know he could contact us if he got lost!

DD9 & DS7 both had their own packs on our last trip. They each had disposable camera, poncho, autograph book, sharpie, fruit snacks, pressed pennies and sunglasses. Each also had a small purell hanging from the side. DD sometimes put her lanyard in there when it would bother her neck. They also ran out of room on the lanyards, so some pins were on the pack.
