I don't have kids, but several people with kids 7-11ish have asked me about Universal and WWoHP lately. Are 7 and 8 year olds usually tall enough to ride Forbidden Journey? This is way out of my realm of knowledge! ha!!

Usually? No. Going by averages, a kid would have to be a couple inches taller than "average" to ride FJ at the age of 7 or 8. But it's not a freakish difference or anything -- there are plenty of kids that age who are tall enough to ride it.

When someone asks, just tell 'em the minimum height is 48 inches...

Last year we went to WDW and DS was 8, he rode Primevil Whirl, which also has a 48" ht req. He is average ht. in is class. I can't remember his ht. at 7, he rode Splash, but that only has a 44" req. I think he is 54" now at 9 :rolleyes1

My DD is 8 and is about 55 inches tall. She was tall enough to ride FJ last summer, but she didn't want to. She is tall, but not a head taller than her whole class or anything. I think almost all the kids in her class (2nd grade) are at least 48 inches tall by now.

When she turned seven, she was about 52 inches tall - I remember because she was too short to go upside down on Sum of All Thrills, but tall enough to ride it.

If they are average to above average for height, then probably. My very average (40th% at age 7) middle child hit 48" at age 7. DD8 rode it last summer at age 7. She was 50" and is above average for height for girls. My very tall 15 year old hit 48" at age 5.

A child who is short for their age/ below average in height may not be tall enough.

My son is 8 and he is 56" now and is looking forward to the big coasters next week. Last time he just missed the 52" for Dr. Doom.
