I'm with Kendall, I'd never drive again if I could get away with it. I commute 22 miles each way to work which sounds like very little but it takes nearly 45 minutes. :scared: Then having to drive the kids to practices etc after, hate it. I know I am not supposed to admit that but I really despise driving.

Three fender benders? :faint: Ouch.

How was your Chinese/tiki salad?

Yeah. 3 totally dumb minor scrape type ones but still, 3.

I despise driving. Always have and ever since my eye condition developed back in 2008...really despise it and truth be told don't feel all that safe doing it thanks to my stupid eyes. Right now I'm avoiding it at all costs except for work. Which isn't terribly fair to Jeff but when your eye starts burning out of nowhere while you are driving, tears streaming down your face and you can't see...it's not exactly safe for anyone involved. Nighttime and rain is far worse.

We are going to have to retire to Florida just so I can see without pain.

Why do your eyes burn like that? That sounds very painful. :goodvibes I'm sure it's a little scary too. I need glasses and I've got glasses it they give me a total headache. I gave it a good week but the headache never went away.

Kody gets headaches and they constantly change her prescription. It never helps.

::yes:: It stands for Personal Disney Shopper. Her name is Kelly. She's getting all of our produce, bakery items, meats, and cheeses. The only thing I didn't love about GG was our produce and with a $200 order, delivery is free. I'm getting the best of both worlds; a custom cake for Chloe and handpicked goodies from Kelly with the easy, non perishables from GG. Kelly can't deliver alcohol either from what I'd heard so I needed both services. I was going to try WeGoShop but GG really was fine.

Ahhh, yes we would never be using a PDS! Fran would rather spend HER vacation time doing that than paying someone else to do it.

Today is the five year anniversary of leaving the hospital. I am filled with so many thoughts of that. An ileostomy is a "relative" of a colostomy.

That doesn't sound fun, I'm glad it is far behind you!

Jenny,
Your trip is so close! I wish I were meeting you there, but every day with Fran lets me know we made the right decision. I just need to find me some down time to decompress! Since we don't get any decompression until November, (small weekend trip in two weeks, but I bet she backs out on that one too) I need some serious not doing anything (at least that I don't want to do). I want to work on my TR, do some cooking and get a massage, not carry boxes down stairs, but that's for my PTR to gripe.

Here we celebrate your upcoming trip. You have awesome plans and are now under one month! :cool1: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: Yay for Pixie dust that you get everything you want together! pixiedust:

Yuck. I'm never wearing them again.

I'll miss meeting up too. :goodvibes I'm glad you know you've made the right decision with regard to canceling. I'm hoping to get to the LBC within the next couple of months. Thanks for the pixiedust: and kind wishes. I really am so excited. We all are. This year, specifically the last few months, has been a time of transition and pretty significant changes for our family. It seems we always reconnect and appreciate one other during our trips to Disney. Whatever that mindset is, I'd love to bottle it and drink it daily. There is just something about being there that makes us feel whole again. This trip couldn't come at a better time.

I hope we can still get two heads for one of ours. :lmao: Never gets old. I love the Jungle Cruise!

I cannot believe we are well under a month. :faint: :hyper: party:

I have "severe" dry eye. Which sounds so much simpler than it really is. Basically I don't make tears and as a result, the cells on my eye...don't regenerate like they should (kind of like skin cells). Which leaves me with eyes that are like the Sahara desert. I have 2 different kinds of prescription drops but am not a good candidate for tear duct surgery. The drops don't help much.

It's like the feeling you get if you've stayed up too late reading, or after crying, plus cutting onions and throw some sand in there all at the same time.

The good news is that at least the drops keep them from being red. I spent a good 6 months looking like a vampire (or that I'd been up to something) before we finally (3 doctors later) figured out what it was.

Apparently it's all related at some level to my excema and contact allergies and so the fact that my skin has flared up over the last year and the eyes are getting worse is not really a coincidence.

So far I'm too vain to go the route of moisture chamber goggles (can you imagine!) and Jeff, bless his heart, is really stepping up on the driving. It is scary to be sure. Combine that with a family history of glaucoma and...UGH!

That sounds so painful  and serious as far as functioning. What is a moisture chamber goggle? It sounds not pretty. ;) I'm pisturing something akin to scuba glasses. :p

Interesting how the excema would affect the eyes. Chloe has mild excema too.

One day I'm getting a D&B Disney bag. Just saying......

:mickeybar 25 days until WDW!!! :mickeybar

Looks like October is set to be busier than Disney planned because they've extended quite a few park hours. I'm going to note the changes. I'm glad I didn't make any breakfast ADRs.

L'Shana Tova!
I hope you're having a very Happy New Year!!!
My little Zachary (age 4) got to blow the shofar for the children's service yesterday afternoon. I'm so proud of him!

Aww....how'd he do? So fun! I miss the days of attending the children's service.

Tashlich in Nantucket. A day late but very meaningful for me.

Well it's not that it effects the eye per se, just that allergies, excema and ashtma are all related to the same gene and they do believe there is a correlation between dry eye, and that gene.

Yeah, something akin to scuba glasses is probably about right. I'll be trying collagen plugs in the not to distant future, but they aren't very hopeful about them helping. Based on everything I read I don't have a lot of confidence in any of the options but you never know. At least the drop keeps them from being red. I was originally very worried it was oclear rosacea, which is nasty. I do have rosacea but so far...only on my skin and it's under control.

So, it could be worse.

Gotcha. Clearly, I don't know much about it. Glad you've got a handle on it. Is this something you've always had? I seem to be breaking down with age. So unfair.

If you want to talk IGF1- Deficieny, I'm your girl. ;)

:stitch: 24 days until WDW!!! :stitch:

It's unbelievable! Found out yesterday that DH's buddy and his family may not be joining us due to some work restrictions. They aren't for sure but there's a 90% chance, it won't happen. They're good peeps, it would have been fun.

Today's pic represents one of the many reasons I heart my DVC:

Do you have IGV1? Yikes! I know a family that has struggled with that with most of their kids. Huge bummer on your friends not being able to go. We are juggling multiple commitments at the moment, some which may overlap my trip and it's causing me stress for sure. Not the least of which is a probable work trip of Jeff's and a major event for my job that is that weekend as well. Historically it's been the first weekend of Oct and I picked my dates under that assumption. Nope, it moved. I just mapped out my next 2 months of work events, travel etc for the both of us and not including kid stuff it's ugly. Add in kid stuff and OY!

I've always had excema, had some asthma like things in college and then again in my 30's, developed the eye thing about 4 years ago but had overly watery eyes for years and was prone to eye infections for much of my life...both of which are indicators. Most recently the dryness has shown up in some fun new contact allergies.

Getting old is not for sissies. I think I have bursitis in my elbow. If that doesn't make me SOUND old if nothing else, I don't know what does. :rotfl2:

LOVE that DCA picture. I really really REALLY want to go for spring break. Jeff doesn't know yet.

Chloe has IGF1- Deficiency. http://www.magicfoundation.org/www/docs/978.1035/insulin-like-growth-factor-deficiency

She takes two shots a day and has for 5 years. She just starting her period, which I'm sure she'd be overjoyed if she knew I announced it here ;) so she's got about a year left before her growth plates start to close. Her medication costs over $100K per year. :faint: :faint: :faint: Without insurance, we'd never be able to do it. We're one of those families that doesn't mind paying our premiums and deductibles because we use every penny and then some of our share.

Are you still coming to WDW or will you have to maybe change your dates? That stinks especially as its so close. :headache: Cue the guilt music too. Trying to navigate life is just insane sometimes. I know we all signed up for this but it's bananas with everyone's schedules and activities.

If you go to Disneyland and stay at the GCV, I'll let you know the villa we had. We've been twice and had the same villa twice. :thumbsup2 Major DVC pixiedust. I'm hoping it carries on over to this trip too.

Oh wow. Poor Chloe! I knew it was expensive but yikes!! No I don't have to change my dates but I am going to have to miss another girls weekend that is 10 days prior to the trip. It's a bummer but it is an annual thing and I'll see all of them through the year and several on Monday. Jeff about lost it when he realized how close together they were so I'm picking my battles.

I didn't know you had 2 girls' trips so close together. Sorry you have to cancel one but I'm glad you chose the other to cancel. ;) :goodvibes Where we're you going for that one?

We've always got to pick our battles and choose opportunities that aren't a total heartache to bend on. The marriage dance: it's what's for dinner!

Yeah, Chloe is a strong little thing. :lovestruc

I hope if one of girls gets married they choose a fairy tale wedding:

I think I'm in a little bit of shock. It's been over three years since our last trip. :faint: :faint: :faint:

It's a local trip. I have a dinner club that is all my sorority sisters, and in the fall we go to one of the girls vacation homes that is about 90 minutes away for the weekend. It is a lovely weekend, usually including some spa time but I'm just going to have to sit it out this time. Both from a marriage dance and a financial standpoint. I have a bonus that I was supposed to get in June...then July and now....maybe it's November at the rate it is going. Long story and very frustrating to myself and my 2 counterparts who are in the same boat but bottom line is trip funds that should have been in my hands a long time ago, aren't yet and it makes things a wee bit tight. Even though it's local by the time you add one dinner out and the spa, it's not a cheap weekend.

It's funny all the compromises that we make to keep the peace! I can't believe how close your trip is. Mine would have been too :sad2: it's good we're not going yet, she is miserable, and I would have been too, let's hope we get her liver readings sorted out, the wounds healed and her back on some arthritis meds.

Yay for three weeks!
