Oh yeah, I'd love to see pics of the stateroom all set up for sleeping. Just saying stateroom makes me feel like I'm on the Love Boat. Are you too young for that show? I'm sure Alaska would be very popular so I wonder why they'd stop that trip? It would be a win win for us.

The Love Boat is the first show I remember watching with my mom (well that and The Muppets).

Remember the show Wings?

I was just watching Wings today:goodvibes

Sleeping in and reading!! I got a Nook tablet a few months back and all I have used it for is reading. I got myself an idiots guide to it and I am going to learn how to do all of the fun stuff.

Sounds like a perfect weekend. What else can you on a Nook? Are they like the iPad?

I loved the Love Boat. :thumbsup2 I always wanted to be Julie McCoy. :rotfl:

I put my WDW research on gold to research Nantucket. :hyper: M still has a trip to Africa before Nantucket so he's not wanting to hear any of the details. He'll be working during the day but I found some cool things to do. They've got walking tour and a sail boat excursion that sounds like a blast. My old college roommate lives in Boston so I'm thinking of taking the ferry over to Hyannis Port and meeting her for lunch. I haven't seen her since 1995 but through the power of FB, have remained in contact for a few years.

I'm on my phone so I can't make the fun little dancing Disney smileys but......

49 days until WDW!!!

Found out that our friends are doing a Friday night service for their DD's bat mitzvah so we'll be able to at least attend that before taking off super early the next day. :woohoo:

I'm sitting at Joshua's soccer training. It's going to be an exciting Saturday of running kids around, gardening, and then taking veggies to our local homeless shelter. They really appreciate the fresh food.

No, you're right. Kacy is our daughter, we love her. I have always felt that if you love a person anything like orientation should never enter into whether you love them or support them. All I ask is that my loved ones are in happy and healthy relationships. I get so tired of the hatred spewed towards same sex relationships. Goodness this 2012! Even my 75 year old mom is supportive of Kacy. Love is an amazing thing. There is no reason that Kacy's relationship should be treated any differently than her siblings.

I wanted to jump in on this, I couldn't agree more and think it's wonderful.

I tend to take it for granted, the acceptingness, based on how I was raised and forget how bad it can be. On our 2011 Alaska cruise, our table mates were a lovely family of 2 women and their 2 girls. They were very guarded with us at first and then ended up becoming really good friends, we had such a great time and spent a lot of non dining time with them over the week. But they did share how stressful and awkward it can be for them in those kinds of situations and hard on their girls at times. Made me sad.

Uh no, not too young at all. :lmao: cracking up at that one.

Who didn't want to be Julie McCoy? I was amused by a tropical storm picture I saw yesterday...with Isaac's (from the Love Boat) face right in the middle of the path.

Love Boat, Fantasy Island...some good family TV! Kind of sad, we don't really watch any shows as a family besides maybe the Amazing Race, American Idol. Plenty of movies but not a recurring show.

Is that the one you thought you'd miss? Did they change their dates?

No. Sometimes people do a Friday night service in addition to the actual Saturday morning bar/bat mitzvah service. Luckily they're doing both. We'll miss the party but at least we'll be able to celebrate that Friday. Not ideal with a 7 am flight the next morning as its an hour away but it's not like the kids are going to sleep anyway. It'll give us something to do. I'll make sure we're all packed prior. I text my friend to make sure Chloe's BFF arrives before Friday so I'm not running from SLC to Logan the same day. There is a good 2 hours between the two.

We must have been posting at the same time. Sorry I missed this.

I think we leave at 7:30 which means I'd like to be checked in and through security by 6:30. I'll do the early bird check in thru SW 36 hours before. It seems the day before a trip is total chaos and I miss the 24 hour check in by like a few hours. We need to be in the A group with a party of 6 to be able to sit together in twos.

So to park and get in by 6:00 means we have to leave at 5:00 so up at 4:30. I'm sure my motley crew will travel in sweats. I don't dress up to fly but traveling in full on sweats make me feel sloppy and sluggish.

Josh says he bringing goggles in case there's anything to see in the Nemo pool. I love seeing that excitement!

Thank you. I don't understand the intolerance that people have for someone that is different. I would have thought that we would learn from history.

Oh I loved that TV line up!! I don't think I ever missed a show.:goodvibes

It is very similar to an iPad. Much cheaper, but a smaller screen.

How was your tutorial?

Gabby's d'var Torah was about gay marriage and rights. It was eloquent and beautiful and I still cannot believe my 14 year old child wrote it. I can email a copy to anyone that would like to see it. :goodvibes

It's alright. I think I know most of it but I wanted to be sure.

I would love to read it. I will message you my email. Thank you.

Just playing on my phone!!

Plans look really good!

Yes on the 1:30 for the meet, looks like that works for most. For some reason I though breakfast was the 22nd, but I can do the 21st, either is good :goodvibes

Really bummed about the Kelly situation, esp as I know she loves to do welcome gifts. I do know she's been super busy and has a newborn, wondering if she's just gotten more than she can handle at the moment as a 1 person shop? Hopefully you will hear from her soon but I completely understand how you feel.

Ugh on getting up and out the door at 4:30. I'm with you on traveling in sweats. Back in the day when juicy was all the rage I did it once, to FL for a "date" trip with Jeff. Full on pale yellow Juicy sweats, white tank and Kate Spade white and gold flip flops. Tried to channel my inner South Beach trophy wife look.

NOT!

K wore her soccer stuff half the trip, including flights both ways. If the weather works I actually love traveling in a dress, so much more comfy but this time it was shorts, tee and a light jacket. Oct will be different though as it's likely to be cold here, I will probably be in jeans. I am bummed about losing a day in travel due to being on a plane.

It was comfy though

Plans look great! I'd say I want to read Gabby's writing, but I can barely find the time to catch up on the DIS and I'm two weeks behind on my emails!

The good thing is that our trip is looking more and more promising. Her wounds are starting to heal up rapidly. She had four last week, two little and two big. This week one of the big ones healed up so much that it is now two very small ones. I'm hoping that all but one are healed up within a week or two, and maybe the big one will be healed before the end of September. She might even be able to get a dose of her super arthritis drug before our trip!

I'm looking forward to going around WS sampling F&W items with you that Monday! :goodvibes

That's great news!! I am praying that she continues to heal this well!!

Thanks! The Dr. sees here tomorrow and hopefully he will be pleased with her progress since last week!

You're welcome!!

I am sure that he will be! It is so hard when you are worrying about a loved one. It wears on you. You need to make sure you take care of yourself.

Is that a new tag I see?

Got your email. I'm going to have DH email it to me and I'll forward it to you. It's not long, just 2.5 pages but so beautiful. I think you guys will like it. :goodvibes

I have to catch up today. And price Disney resorts ;)

:welcome: home!!! Dates please? MNSSHP? Family? Deets!!! popcorn::

The 22nd works too. I thought maybe I was mixed up. I added it to the updated itinerary. My brain is fried. M's schedule is insane the next four weeks and the panic is setting in. I'm not a great single parent. ;) In fact, I suck at it. :guilty: He starts a 96* hour shift tomorrow which is just horrible. He will be home next Friday and Saturday. He leaves for Africa on the 2nd until late the night of the 14th. He's home the 15th. Back at the FD the 16th and then off to a photoshoot on the 17th until the night of the 21st. Back to the FD for a 48* on the 22nd and then home on the 24th. Can you imagine?! I'll be tagging along though to Nantucket on Sept 18 and we'll fly home together the 21st. ::yes:: I'm the horrible mother whose ditching her kids during the third week of school.

I didn't have the Juicy ones but had some decent Kohl's ones. :lmao: I have traveled in them too. I love me some valour. That's a little embarrassing to say. I like dresses too. With a little cardigan for the plane. But my favorite is jeans on the plane with a t shirt and zipper hoodie. :cloud9: I'm such a jeans person. And flip flops, always flip flops but I carry a pair of socks on me because I can't stand to have cold feet. I think I sound high maintanence. ;)

Kelly wrote me back. :thumbsup2 I think I'm going to do the groceries and cake from her and gift basket from Betsy unless Kelly's price is better. I wonder if they travel to the parks for items? I'd love to include the WS passports. Betsy gave me some cute ideas.

It may be cold here too in October. The thought of winter pains me.

I'm so happy she's healing! That's terrific! And a dose of a super drug would be fabulous pre trip.

I'm looking forward to it too. October seems like a fantastic month for WDW.

Is that a new tag I see?

Oooooo it's purdy! What thread Alison? I think I need anew tag too. But I don't want to give up my current ones. I love them so. I'm attached and hate change. Even tag change.
