I think it was your TR that we were talking about One Direction LOL. Your daughters like them right? Do they also like the Wanted? I met them over the weekend! Well, 3 outta the 5. I have pictures if your daughters would like to see LOL

::yes:: I posted a pic of them meeting One Direction back in June. They do like Wanted and I'm sure they'd love to see a pic if you want to post it. :thumbsup2 They claim though they'll never love anyone like *their boys*. :lmao: I have to say though, I still love Bono and U2 after 30 years. :smokin:

Nassau is not good?

It was ok, not a place I've any desire to go back to.I think Atlantis is cool, albeit ridiculously expensive. If we somehow ended up back there it'd either be Atlantis or we'd likely stay on the ship. But I expected that so it wasn't a surprise.

I'd think cruises to Alaska would be quite popular but maybe not? :confused3 It sounds like a great man starter cruise. ;) I'm sure that's the only way M would agree.

Very good man starter cruise. It's not official that they won't be there but apparently that was the word on the ship. It is there for 2013. I find it odd as well but I've no idea how well it was selling. I know ours was sold out.

PDD? Can you do part points and part cash? I thought only 4 fit in a room. I can't even imagine how smashed we'd be but I'm guessing that on a cruise, you really do only use the room for sleeping.

You'd be surprised how well you fit. There are different sized rooms. Some sleep 3, some 4, some 5. You can also get adjoining. The newer ships have done a brilliant job with the storage so it feels pretty big and comfortable, surprisingly so. But it's not like you are really hanging out in the room anyway all that much. Pretty sure there are room pics of the 4 person room on my Alaska TR and when we get to that part on this one, I have pics of the family stateroom all set up with the beds down so you can see size.

How much is the deposit and what happens when you cancel? It sounds similar to the free dining/PIN waiting game. When do they release next years dates?

20% I think is the current deposit. You can move it at any time to a different date, either by calling or online and jsut pay the difference in deposit if there is one. You can do it right up until your paid in full date which is usually 90-120 days prior to the cruise. Usually 90.

:rotfl2: I hear you on all three counts! I've got none of the above. My dishwasher is leaving a filmy mess even on super scrub with very little soap. :headache:

At the moment mine isn't draining. Jeff is trying to fix. Which doesn't always go well. Last time he fixed something (the disposal) he messed up how the DW drains, has never fixed it and I think that's what has caused the recent issue.

I swear I did dishes by hand for an hour last night. UGH!

Do you have pics of your fish extenders? I can't seem to grasp the concept other than its basically a long piece of fabric with envelope type pockets on it and you leave each other trinkets.

Hope you had a good weekend. I just told my friend we'd miss the bat mitzvah. She's a little upset/disappointed.

I'll have lots of pictures of ours as we get to it. Bummer on the bat mitzvah

I also love Bono and U2! :) I went to the MixTape Festival in Hershey this past weekend mainly for NKOTB. It turned into Boy Band Palooza 2012 because they were there as well as Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, and the Wanted. At one point they were all up on stage together. The Wanted's bus was parked directly behind the stage and us fans managed to convince them to come on over! I met Tom, Siva, and Jay. I saw Max and Nathan but wasn't able to get pictures with them. Here are some pictures :) I apologize for the shirts LOL.

Oh okay. I can't believe she doesn't want to go. Whose kid is she anyway? :rotfl: She's gaining some independence so that's cool.

party: 51 days until WDW!!! party:

I think that it isn't that she doesn't want to go so much as she wants to play house.

Oh yeah, I'd love to see pics of the stateroom all set up for sleeping. Just saying stateroom makes me feel like I'm on the Love Boat. Are you too young for that show? I'm sure Alaska would be very popular so I wonder why they'd stop that trip? It would be a win win for us.

20% isn't bad. So you can keep moving the deposit around free of charge? That's pretty cool. Who do you usually book through? I recall there were all sorts of OBC based on what TA is being used.

I've Atlantis is so expensive. Is it worth it I wonder? The commercials make it look amazing.

:thumbsup2 Your photos are fantastic! Looks like you had a great time! How fun! Thank you so much for sharing them. My Chloe is jealous !!! I told her she can't be because she met 1D. She thinks Wanted is also so cute. Were they nice?

I think that it isn't that she doesn't want to go so much as she wants to play house.

Warn her! She's got the rest of her life to play house. Widh someone would have warned me. ;) Hahaha!

I have told her. I have told all my children that I waited until I was 30 years old to get married to their dad. That it is important to grow up before you become responsible for another. I hope they all have listened.

I'd think cruises to Alaska would be quite popular but maybe not? :confused3 It sounds like a great man starter cruise. ;) I'm sure that's the only way M would agree.

I did that bunch of cruise research and then purged it all from my sad breaking once I realized it wasn't going to happen.

Hi! How was Fran's appt? Did you get the :thumbsup2 for October?

Not much R&R but lots of fun, food, and beer.

What's M&T? Something and therapy? Let me know when you update!

I've been to Nassau and Alaska, I can see where Alaska would be much more man oriented, there are brothels to tour and all that. We had fun doing the waterplane tour and several others.

I can see why he woulnd't be into Nassau, with all that wanting to braid ladies hair and shopping and stuff! :lmao:

I don't know, for us we spend a lot of time in the room, but that's probably because of the disability. I'm not sure you can do part points and cash on a room, but you might be able to do one room on cash one on points. I would call MS because I'm talking out my a** :rolleyes1

Well at her appt, the RA Dr. said she can't have her super drug but he gave her an antiquated drug for arthritis relief, it won't do a lot but it might do something. The good thing is that when I changed her dressing tonight her wounds had healed immensely! There was one that was like the Great Lakes and it had an isthmus between two spots and it was kind of like the isthmus was healing up so instead of making one big cut of the Hydrofera Blue, I had to make two separate ones. I think all but one of her wounds might be healed before our WDW trip so I'm going to encourage her to go!

Oh no Kacy has decided that she is not going with us because of school and hopefully a job. She wanted her girlfriend to come stay so that they could have some alone time. I am totally cool with her girlfriend coming to stay, they are both adults but I am not paying for it. I did offer that next summer I would pay for her girlfriends room, food, and transportation down to DLR but she has to pay for her ticket and her way home.

So I'm guessing from the way you talk that your Kacy has a same sex partner? That is so wonderful (if my assumption is correct) that you are so accepting, but that you have the same kind of rules that parents would have for heterosexual relationships. If I am off base I am sorry. But if so, it's so nice to see people treating their kids just the same regardless of orientation. If not excuse my assumptions, I've been under a lot of pressures and obligations lately and might be to tired to understand circumstances. If I'm wrong excuse my assumptions.

No, you're right. Kacy is our daughter, we love her. I have always felt that if you love a person anything like orientation should never enter into whether you love them or support them. All I ask is that my loved ones are in happy and healthy relationships. I get so tired of the hatred spewed towards same sex relationships. Goodness this 2012! Even my 75 year old mom is supportive of Kacy. Love is an amazing thing. There is no reason that Kacy's relationship should be treated any differently than her siblings.

I am sorry that you have been under so much pressure and are tired.

You can do part points and part cash. But it's a trade on your points so you'd lose a lot of flexibility in moving the booking for a cash ressie. Point bookings can be limited. A lot of folks say its a bad use of pints but I figure they are your points use then how you like!

I'm not going to say everything is good here, but it's not bad. That's so wonderful you have such an attitude and your mom does too. My mom was always very supportive of the community even before I knew what was going on. We had gay dancers in our house when I was growing up, I just never knew I was one of them, but they were always nice and fun people! :goodvibes

For us, after 15 years, it's just normal, but I know for younger folks there is some amount of struggle and acceptance, but nothing like 10-20-30-40 years ago. I'm just glad that there are parents like you and Jenny who have educated their kids to open minds and hearts.

Both my husband and I are supportive. I am so glad to hear that your mom has always been supportive. I have known gay people that their families aren't supportive. My kids have gay friends and when one of him told his parents they told him he was just confused. I thought was one of the saddest things I had ever heard. I have always had gay friends and never really thought much about it.

It's funny you mention about 10, 20, 30, 40 years ago. My mom was telling Kacy a story the other day about in 1962 when I was a baby there was a family event. I believe it was a wedding. One of my dads cousins was there with her girlfriend. They were very open about their relationship, in retrospect my mom said that she hadn't realized just how brave they were to be open back then. Hopefully when Kacy is 50 years old all of the old fashioned thoughts on this will be gone and everyone will be free to be themselves.

I have told her. I have told all my children that I waited until I was 30 years old to get married to their dad. That it is important to grow up before you become responsible for another. I hope they all have listened.

I hope the same for mine. :goodvibes I know they work at their own pace but I can't tell you how many women I see, who wake up at 40, who got married too young, and are lost! I'm not saying it happens to everyone but I see an awful lot in my line of work. I don't think the predominant religion around here helps. The pressure to get married and multiply is strong. Again, not all, but I've seen my share.

I was thinking more bears than brothels but I like your mind. :rotfl:

It's a pipe dream at this point but one day we'll do it. I looked at the points and we'd need a huge add n to make that happen.

I'm so glad she's healing!!! Is the drug to take to WDW?

Good point! Cash all the way then. I always forget how limiting points can be when changes are made. When Michael asked to move the trip up a few days I about peed from laughing. He has no idea that we can't just simply move our reservation.

For Jeff it was glaciers, the only reason we even saw a brothel is that it was also a pub. LOL!

Yeah, I've no idea on a cruise how it would work if you wanted to make a change. I was looking into the RCI stuff last night and it seriously gave me a headache. I will say though, we made several changes to our July trip close to the end and it worked out fine, just depends on what you are trying to do and how sold out a resort is.

THV during food and wine? Yeah..no moving that! AKV? Probably have a lot more flexiblity there.

We had a blast! They're very nice guys! There was a bit of a crowd and they made their way around & tried to get a picture with whoever wanted one. Jay was probably the most outgoing of the three that I met. The women next to me were in their 50s and were giving him kisses & he chatted with them for a bit. He was actually leaning over the baracade to hug people who were behind us. When I grabbed Tom for a picture, he thought I was going in for a hug or a kiss on the cheek, so that was a bit awkward LOL. Siva's quiet but sweet. I didn't interact with Max or Nathan. I couldn't get Max for a picture (I tried twice!) so that made him plummet down the favorites list. I think Nathan is comical and would've loved to meet him but he was out there for all of a minute before his security team told him to go eat & he had to leave. I'm not sure if he came back out later. During the NKOTBSB show, they were standing in that little area watching & were still signing autographs and taking pictures for people who approached. They're great to their fans! Wow look at me raving about these boys LOL. I sound like a teenager. Love them!

I love it- such a fun time in life!!! I'm glad you got to meet them. Experiences like that are once in a lifetime.

I'm going to Nantucket with M for a few days this Sept. I was hoping it would happen but didn't want to jinx it. I've always wanted to visit Nantucket! Remember the show Wings? I fell in love with the idea from that show and have wanted to go ever since especially after reading up on it. I'm so excited!

I've got a *sitter* for the kids all lined up. The only issue is that they'll miss Rosh Hashana services. They're not upset by this. At all. :lmao:

Happy Friday indeed! Any fun plans this weekend?

Sleeping in and reading!! I got a Nook tablet a few months back and all I have used it for is reading. I got myself an idiots guide to it and I am going to learn how to do all of the fun stuff.
