He says no but will do whatever I want. He'll be on vacation and really not care but he is right when he says it adds a level of unnecessary work for us. I need to get it through my thick noggin that we'll be back and have plenty of time to try each resort. The kids don't care because it requires no work form them.
We did the triple once and I vowed never to do it again. I need to remember that.
It is work for the kids though really. They too have to pack their stuff and be momentarily homeless while things transfer. Even if you have a car to just toss it in, it's the load/unload and move thing, when you could be at the pool or park. Not to mention the chances of something getting lost goes up exponentially each time you move. On our last trip, we had things go missing and then I lost more time trying to track them down, calling the resorts we'd just been at.
The nice thing about a long trip is you do have that time to "spare" but no matter what you do, it will take time.
We are staying at 3 different places for a 3 night trip over president's week, it will be interesting. It's a road trip so we kind of have to. And our summer trip has some similar aspects to based on constraints that kind of mandate it but...UGH!
Still, it's really hard not to want to try everywhere!
<------- Jealous! Are you going to spend a day at the beach?![]()
You and Gussy are the goodand bad
a top each shoulder.
You're totally right hence my hesitation. What I think will end up happening is 5 nights at SSR and 6 at AKV SV non CL. I'll be very happy with any of the above situations.
I can't imagine something going missing, what got lost?![]()
What are you doing over President's Week? Do tell.
No, we live close enough to the beach we could go everyday if we wanted. It isn't a highlight for me on a trip. You know? The weather is so beautiful today is why I chose that emote.
It can depend on how you travel. For us, when we get to the room I want to fully unpack and get everyone settled. The reality is that I am the one losing most of the time and it's a good 3-5 hours depending on the scenario. While the kids might not lose the same kind of time, they are kind of tied to where I am to some degree. On our summer trip, we have to drive to, and from, the port so in that sense we have transition time no matter what we do which makes the move basically required.
So you'd keep the 2b and give up the Treehouse for Savanna? The nice thing is, if your dream isn't available right away (whatever you decide that is), your chances of Savanna even fairly close to your trip, are pretty good so you could probably play with waitlist if you needed to. Savanna won't be an issue, heck they just declared a bunch more villas.
Ultimately nothing was lost but we didn't realize that for quite a while. We had a number of kids clothing stolen out of our dirty clothes hamper while we were at the YC. All the moving just made it that harder to figure out what acutally had happened, and when. Basically it would appear housekeeping nabbed a fair amount of our "nicer" (and in most cases brand new) kids stuff. All abercrombie kids or regular ambercrombie. With the exception of a bunch of K's underwear which is just![]()
It was awful. Not only did the kids lose a lot of their favorite items (in Evan's and K's case, birhtday presents) but then we were seriously short on shorts for the IOA/HRH part of the trip for those 2.
Sadly, Disney was less than magical about it. You think of things being stolen WHILE you are doing laundry but it was watched 100% of the time. We finally realized all the missing things had never even made it to the laundry. In a very sad way, it's fairly smart thievery, whether it's for your own kids or resale. Assume folks won't look at their dirty stuff until they get home and then assume the clothes were left behind. They took just enough, say 3 items per kid, for a parent to assume the kid misplaced them.
I know we sure did, thinking K had just left shorts on the floor at WL, or in the daybed at YC, stuff like that. It wasn't until we tallied the volume of missing items that we realized something bigger was at play.
Short road trip to OR, will be hitting an aerospace museum that happens to have a waterslide that comes out of a 747, then to the OR coast for one night and then the WA coast for one night. A little nutty but the drive is part of the attraction (at least on the way back). 3 nights and 4 very full days.
I am doing laundry and trip organizing Missy!! We have only four more sleeps and we are on the road!!
Woot woot!! Love the pre trip prep!![]()
You are going to have such a great time. the weather is looking to be high 60's low 70's. Perfect! I can't wait to read all about it.
A co worker is there today and tomorrow. I made her a game plan. She's been texting me and they're having a blast. It's in the 80's though. She loves the heat so she's stoked especially after I told her how gloomy it is here.
The weather is unreal right now down there. I will take 70's any day. As long as the rain stays away I am all good.
CL just may open up for you. There may be AKV owners waiting for BWV & BCV to open up at the 7 month mark for F&W.
70s are perfect.I bet it won't be crowded either.
I looked at the projected crowds and the worst crowds we are expected to come across are 3 out of 10. So I am thinking it is going to a great visit!!
I agree! It's such a great time to go. And only The Matterhorn is closed, rt? And GRR? I wouldn't ride that in Feb anyway unless it was in the 80s.
Yeah, but you know it's no big deal. I always expect refurbishments in the off season.
For sure. Not deal breakers by any means. Are you guys flying or driving?
