Kidani vs jambo

We plan to stay a week in a 2 BR suite at AKL. Can someone give me the lowdown on the differences between kidani and jambo? Is one generally preferred?

Also are the savanna views better from one? We do want a good view of the animals

From what I understand the rooms at Jambo are slightly smaller and only have one bathroom whereas Kidani has two full baths. Also, I believe the savanna views are great from both. Kidani has a more secluded feel where Jambo is a much busier location. Enjoy!

Kidani does not have a food court, but Jambo does. We are DVC members, and AKL is our home resort. We have visited Kidani several times for dinner and to look around the resort, but we always decide we prefer to stay at Jambo. We love the pool at Jambo with the lush green trees for shade, but the pool at Kidani probably is better if you have young children with you. Jambo has a signature restaurant and also a huge buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Kidani has only one restaurant which serves lunch and dinner. We love the lobby at Jambo, but many people prefer the smaller, quieter lobby at Kidani. The lobby area of Kidani is lovely, but the theming is different from Jambo. Both are great resorts, and I think it is just a matter of which suits your family best. If you have a car, parking at Kidani is better than at Jambo. The villas at Kidani are larger and have an extra bathroom, but since it is only DH and me most of the time, we don't need the extra space in the villa.

Jambo House two bedroom villas are converted hotel rooms. So every two bedroom villa is a lockoff - meaning it can be rented as a studio and one bedroom or as a two bedroom. There is a door between the studio and one bedroom that can be closed between them to lock the studio from the one bedroom.

The Jambo one bedrooms only have one bathroom and no separate shower from the jacuzzi tub. The tub is a standard sized tub with jets.

Kidani was built from scratch. So you could get a lock off two bedroom or a dedicated two bedroom. The dedicated will have two queen beds in the second bedroom. There will be a second bathroom at the entry to the one villa.

If you get a lock off, the second bedroom will have a kitchenette, one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa instead of two queen beds.

Also, there is a different between suites and villas. Suites do not have the full kitchen and the washer and dryer. They are booked directly through Disney and cannot be booked on DVC points.

Jambo House two bedroom villas will be located on the fifth floor. Two bedroom suites will be considered deluxe rooms and attached to the concierge lounge amenities. Two bedroom villas do not get concierge amenities unless they are one of the five two bedroom villas located on the sixth floor that are considered concierge villas and go for more than the ones on the fifth floor.

There are no suites at Kidani Village, only villas.
