I am looking at a trip for next year and trying to decide between both these resorts. We took the kids last year and stayed at BLT and they loved it. The year before we went to kidani without the kids and we loved that resort as well. I am having trouble deciding now since I think the kids would love the savannah but being so close to MK was great for them as well. We will have 2 days of nonparks that we will be hanging out at the resort as well. What are your thoughts?

For a resort day, Kidani is a much better resort in my opinion. For overall proximity to anything but AK, BLT really wins.

Split stay?

How old are your kids? We've loved staying at BLT (and VGF)because it's so convenient. We stayed at Kindani about 18 months ago and loved the resort but we're so frustrated with the feeling we were out of the loop in reference to travel to and from the parks.

The kids will be 13,12, and 8. I thought about a split stay but once I am there I don't really like moving. I prefer to settle in and not move rooms. I totally get the out of the loop feeling at this resort.

I just got back from a week at Kidani savanna view with a 10, 12 and 15 year old. The savanna was awesome for the first couple of days but after that it was not a big thrill for the kids. Having to take the shuttle to go between the 2 main buildings was a negative. Being so far away from the other parks was also not a plus. And even though we were in the first 3rd of the wing in Kidani the walk from the lobby to the room was looooong. Also, only having the pool bar as quick service option unless you hopped the shuttle to Jambo was another negative for the kids. It is an absolutely stunning resort and I am so glad we went there with the kids but I think we are going to do BLT next trip for the location to the MK and the ability to jump on the monorail to head to the Poly and GF on a non park day or for a greater variety of close dining options. Just my opinion.

We did an awesome split stay between 2 bedroom villas at each BLT and Jambo house and loved that vacation. It was a good mix.

We stayed at BLT two years ago in December and loved the location and the pool, but the resort lacked any real theme or christmas spirit. This December we will be at Kidani village so I am eager to compare the two. 11 weeks and 1 day to go.

When we stayed there last time I was not a fan of the long walk we had. We were the second to last room down the hall and at night after a few drinks that was not a fun walk at all.

BLT. On one of your resort days make an ADR at Boma and go a couple hours early to explore AKL and watch the animals. That's what I would do anyway.:)
