Our waitlist just came through for Kidani Village. We have never stayed here before although we have stayed at Jambo House. Is there anything at Kidani to grab for breakfast before going to a park? I was looking for something like a bagel or danish. If not how long does it take to get to Jambo House? Also, is it warm enough to swim in January? Thanks

There is a shuttle that runs between Jambo and Kidani. No counter service but you can run to Jambo. Its about a 10 min walk. Not bad at all. I think the pool is heated but I havent gone swimming in January.

There are a few packaged snacks in Johari, the shop in the lobby. If you want more, just jump on a park bus, they stop at Kidani first. Get off at Jambo and run into Mara, then back out to the bus stop. From there you will go straight to your park. Other option would be to grab the snack at the park.

Throw some bagels in your suitcase to make in your unit. We just went through 3 bags of english muffins. So handy.

I don't think it is warm enough to swim in January. Even if the water is heated the outside air is very cool. And at Kidani there is a small store with some food selections. We just kept things like pop tarts and juice and apples in the room for breakfast. You can pack some to bring with you (much cheaper) or buy some at the store in the lobby to have in your room in the morning.

BTW, these were the nicest DVC rooms I had ever stayed in. LOVED IT! Hope you have a wonderful trip :)

We asked for a room on the Jambo side of Kidani. From the 5th floor we walked the inside hallways to the last elevator for the parking garage (Zazu, maybe? I can't remember what it's called, but there was a sign saying it was the last one). That took us right to the path to Jambo-- about a 5 min walk from there. Although, on my park days, I like to get up and GO. So I'd do breakfast in the room (bagel and cream cheese, pop tarts) or even room service (you can call and tell them you want it at a certain time in the morning). HTH!

We usually stay at Kidani village. I usually bring either bagels and English muffins from home, and a small jar of peanut butter and jelly, along with coffee and filters from home, and that is our breakfast. Depending on where you stay in Kidani, the lobby at Jambo may actually be a shorter walk than the lobby to Kidani, if you are on the South wing of the building. One time we had the second to last room on that hallway, and I was wishing that there was a door to outside so we could just walk over. But, there isn't, so, you'd have to backtrack to the elevator.

We will be at Kidani in January too and I am going back and forth on packing suits. It looks like they have that super cute splash area for my toddlers. Didn't pack them last December and it was sunny and 80!

They have a great splash area. We had our twin almost 3 year old grandsons here a couple of weeks ago and they LOVED the splash area. I'd say pack your suits, they don't take much room and if it happens to be a warm January you may get to use them.:)

We've been in early January and had temperatures in the 80's. We went to the only open water park and spent the day. And we have been in January and had temperatures in the 50's. It just depends. Check the 10-15 day weather forecast before you go.
