Hi there, I was wondering what floor you're on? Your view has been spectacular, I will miss it when you have to go home Thanks again for taking the time to share, and all of the great videos...the kidani pool area for kids looks like a lot of fun!

I requested five months ago via DVC Member Services "close to lobby". I never do Online Check-in. I usually arrive at Disney resorts before noon, if I don't like the requested room location, I'm willing to wait for my requested room until the usual 4pm check-in time. It usually works out.

Lobby is on second floor. First floor is street/ground level parking and covered parking.

"close to lobby" is generic enough to get you the room you wanted. Don't request specific room numbers. Reason: what are the chances on the day of your check-in that specific room number is ready for you? I could still be in that specific room number while you're check-in.

In my opinions low floor rooms = 'eye-to-eye' with animals and high floor rooms = see further out but animals blocked by trees.

I will post some detailed information of our room later on in this thread.

yup! THe first post said they'd be streaming through APril 9....so I was hoping it was through the 9th, and not leaving in the morning of the 9th! It was a fun few days to watch and feel like we were there, and boy am I going to miss this. I was so sad yesterday when I came home from work and it was gone! Thanks for watching Kidani Village and Jambo House CAM!!

Here are the webcam placement photos for some of you asking via Private Messages (PM).

Webcam was protected from all weather elements (sun, rain, wind).

1. Logitech webcam C905 (download the latest software from Logitech website, the supplied CD software is old with v1.0) with desktop stand and 3-feet cable
2. Belkin 10-feet USB extension cable

Door was not closed/locked because of USB extension cable

• We loved both resorts 100%!! (DW, DS13, DS09, myDISboards).

• The dark African-themed 1-bedroom we loved very much. All lights were on day and night. Drapes were opened during the day.

• All of us walked few times between Kidani Village and Jambo House. On one occasion, a cast member gave us a golf car ride over to Jambo House. DS13 and DS09 loved it!! The golf car ride was recorded on Sony Point-n-Shoot camera.

• No over-the-counter restaurant at Kidani Village?! What DVC/Disney thinking? But the walks were leisure for us. DS13 said it few times, “just do it and walk over”.

• Notes on walkway from Jambo House to Kidani Village: when you’re near Kidani Village Zazu elevators parking area #1, you can actually walk under the covered parking (street level) and use Timon elevators parking area #5 for example to get to the main lobby. This short-cut is good for rain and hot summer sun.

• We ate lunch and dinner at Sanna restaurant (not on same day). Sanna had same menu for lunch and dinner but the waiter/waitress explained the differences such as lesser items on same entrees. Food was excellent!!

• We ate twice at Boma for dinner (not consecutive nights). All buffet items were same except for few different soups and entrees for each dinner. We tried a little of everything at first, and then went back for our favorites!! Food was excellent!!

• We did not eat at Jiko because of other priorities. It’s on our to-do-list next time we visit. I have a video named "Jiko" at the above website.

• We went to Downtown Disney three times. Each time about 25-minutes ride. From Kidani Village, waited 5-10 minutes for the buses at 12pm/3pm/6pm. From Downtown Disney, waited 10-15 minutes for the buses at 3pm/6pm/8:30pm.

• DS13 and DS09 loved both swimming pools and slides (Kidani slide is longer). Not crowded for our stay. If there were crowd levels, the pool choice = Uzima Pool at Jambo House.

• The bus ride from Kidani Village to Magic Kingdom about 20-minutes. We had Bay Lake Tower scheduled tour at 1:00pm. I asked about the differences between daily 1:00pm tours and 2pm to 4pm tours when I made our appointment, only the daily 1:00pm tours are Top Of The World Lounge/Observation Deck.

I walked leisurely for the mobile recording from Kidani Village to Jambo House in 8 minutes. I'm not a runner, but I immediately jogged back the same walkway from Jambo House to Kidani Village in 4 minutes.

I dialed "DVC" from the room phone on Monday April 05, 2010 to schedule the 1pm tour. No availability on Tuesday April 06, 2010 so I made the 1pm appointment on Wednesday April 07, 2010. I asked the differences about 1pm and 2-4pm tours. Only 1pm tours are TOTW Lounge/Observation Deck.

If you check-in EARLY or check-out and want to use the KV pool, hot tub/spa, and kids’ water play area, the restrooms by the Survival of the Fittest (fitness room) have an excellent showers and change of clothes area!!
