Kidani Village - best location with Savannah view but close to pool area?

Hi all,
I am wondering what the best room request would be for my family. We are going to be staying in a dedicated two bedroom. We would like to be as close to possible to the pool area but still on the inside of the horseshoe shape of the resort. My dad believes the Savannah on the inside has better animals than the smaller Savannah on the outside. I have never stayed there so I am looking for some suggestions on the location.

The savannah to which you are referring is the sunset Savannah. I would suggest that you request a lower level sunset savannah room close to the Rafiki elevator. The Rafiki elevator empties out about 25 yards from the entrance to the pool at Kidani. Being on a lower level will give you the best views of the animals. We requested this room accomodation for our stay in September and were in the first bank of rooms to exiting to the left coming off of the Rafiki elevator on the 2nd floor. There was a giraffe feeding station in the trees there that would be filled about 2-3 times a day/night so we frequently got some great, up-close views of the giraffes.

We stayed last April at Kidani & had great views fairly close to pool in a dedicated 2BR. I wish I had the actual unit #, but looking at the maps I believe it was in the section 7213-7223, same floor as lobby to the left, before the elevator. Kids loved the view & the giraffes were up close & personal many times. I was surprised at how quiet it was even though we were on the same level as the lobby & the place was full for the vacation week. Really didn't hear anyone walking by at all. 2nd floor is pretty much level with the feeding stations. After taking the elevator down we were directly across from the exercise room & a very short walk to the pool entrance. I felt it was an ideal location.

In making requests, your first one is given priority and the more rooms your request possibly encompasses the greater the chance of getting it. Trust me, your top request should be "close to lobby." That will put you close to all amenities includng lobby, restaurant, bus stop, pool, store. Pool area starts just north of lobby so that you won't be far from it if you get request and are even on the south wing. You will also see animals as there are feeding areas near both the north and south side of the savanna not far from the lobby. That simple request also automatically gets Sunst Savanna which is the largest and has giraffes (the other, Pembe is itself "far from lobby").

That is a fairly easy request for them to try to meet. It is key because otherwise you can easily end up far from lobby. "Far from the lobby" has a unique meaning at Kidani. Think of the longest distance you ever had to walk in your life, now tripple it, and that will give you the distance from the lobby to the end rooms of the north wing of Kidani; the end rooms of the south wing are only a little closer. As a second request you could also ask for lower floor but don't make that your top request.
