I just added 1 night to our stay in December and was only able to get a standard view studio. What can I expect to see? Do you still get any type of savannah view or will it be parking lot?

Almost all the standards face the front side of the building and overlook road, lot, bus stop, or pool area. From some that look toward the pool area it is possible you could get a glimpse of animals in the Pembe Savanna when out on the porch and looking north (the rooms face west and the Pembe Savanna starts just north of the area where the standards end). There are also a small number of standards that were changed from savanna view because their view was poor and those are near the very end of the north wing about 1/3 mile from the lobby.
We had a standard view studio for one night .... we were pretty far down the long hallway... I want to say the Puumba section but I cant totally remember.
We did have a peek-a-boo view of the animals from where we were.
Here are some pics to give an idea-
Really early in the morning:
Once the fog had burned off:
So it is possible to not be looking at the parking lot, but it will be a longer walk down tha hall.

Based on your view it looks like you were in a room that was formerly classified as Savanna View. As your photo shows, there is a section of the Pembe Savanna that is only about 50 feet deep. The rooms in that section (including the two GVs) have been reclassified from Savanna View to Standard View.
Here is an aerial view of AKV. The little red circle shows where the Standard View GVs are located. I'm not sure how many rooms on either side of that circle have been converted to Standard View. You can see that the road around the back of the savanna bends in close to the building at that point.
