Hi, all. I have a quick question. Has anybody stayed at AKV Kidani in a savannah view & had any trouble in an upper floor room? We are staying there over New Year's eve & usually at other resorts we request a high floor for a better view but I am worried about our room being blocked by a tree. We had a 4th floor savannah view @ jambo 2 years ago that worked great, but don't know enuf about kidani & their layout. also how many savannah's are there & are any better to request than the others?
Thanks much!!

We have stayed at both an upper and lower floor at Kidani and we definitely felt the lower the floor the better the view.

A lower floor is a better view and you will feel closer to the animals.

Top floor is 5th floor (except GVs have second story that stetches to 6th floor height), lowest floor is 2d (first floor which is ground floor is parking garage). If 2d fl you get more direct sight view of animals; if 5th floor you are looking down on them but get more panoramic view. Personal view: I actually like the views equally for the reasons stated and thus do not bother with preferred floor requests.

The one request I do recommend you make as your first priority is "close to lobby." That puts you on Sunset savanna (the large savanna) which has giraffes and close to all amenities -- store, restaurant, community hall, pool, bus stop -- and you get excellent viewing. If that is not your top request, you risk getting far from lobby and far from lobby at Kidani is the longest walk down an internal hallway from lobby to room that exists in any hotel anywhere in the world (and I mean the hotels on earth not just WDW).

We just got back! Had a 2bdrm on the second floor in the "Timon" section.
We had every animal (especially giraffes) except for Ankole Cattle over there every single day.
Most animals seemed to be in that part of the savannah at 11am and later in the afternoon.
On the 2nd floor we were nearly face to face with the giraffes-they put their food on the tree right in front of our balcony.:thumbsup2

we where at the top lol and it was great looking out over everything...my DD's 13 years old and 3 year old LOVED It!

We just got back a few weeks ago and I requested near lobby and transportation. We were not on the bus stop side but to the left when you went in. Literally up the elevator turn the corner and a few doors down. I loved the 5th floor, great view.

At Kidani, I like 2nd or 3rd floor, "close to the lobby."

Last December we requested "close to lobby" and we were one group/pod of rooms from the lobby, but on the 3rd floor. We felt we had a phenomenal view. We were very happy with our room.

We always get lobby level, 2nd floor. Noise from the hallway has never been a problem for us. Closest to the animals :)

2nd floor is the best, hands down! We stayed in a 2nd floor room in 2009 & the very same room, but on the 4th floor in 2010. From the 2nd floor room, not only can see the animals well, but you can hear them too. Soooooo cool!

We just got back a couple weeks ago and stayed on the 2nd floor, close to the lobby. The views were outstanding and, as the pp said, being able to hear the animals was a fun experience too!
