Took these photos on 1/7/2009 and finally got a chance to post.

The sign that welcomes you as you drive up to the resort

The backside area which has no villas since it overlooks a service area. If you look at the far left of the building you can just see in the distance what appears to be the patios for the villas that most likely are 'standard' view.

The pathway that goes along the backside and which would take you to the Lodge.

Looking at the front side as seen from Jambo House, overlooking the Savanna

Those are some nice pictures. In a couple of years I'd love to switch it up and stay there.

They've made some more progress since I was there in December. I can't wait to see how far they've gone when I go back in March.

Oh it looks great!! Now I can't wait till our first trip "home" I get to call tomorrow to make the reservation. :cheer2: Thanks for posting the pics!!

WOW!! What great pictures. Thanks for sharing. We are going in March and I am going to go over and take a look see when I am there.

Thanks for posting. Just a little more than 5 months 'til I'm there. Can't wait!

Nice to see the walkway and some landscaping in place. Did you happen to notice how guests will cross over to Jambo House? Last I saw, this walkway would take you past the entrance to the delivery area where I expect there will be trucks coming and going. I was curious if they would be doing anything to make it a safe crossing area since it looked like trucks exiting that area would have limited visibility around that large red block wall.

Excellent question. I'm sure there will be quite a number of teens and even pre-teens running between the two buildings for take out food & swimming areas. In June, I can foresee my 12 yo & 15 yos being among them. They certainly know how to cross a road, but I'd like to know that they'd be safe even if distracted.

If I recall, it did cross the entrance to the service area and I don't remember anything special there. I believe it went to the handicap parking area for the Lodge. So walking from Kidani to the Lodge would mean following the path to the handicap parking area, then following that walkway up to the lodge itself. If I get a chance we'll try to get back there again and take a closer look.

Thanks for the pics. I can't wait until June!

Thanks for the pics, I'll be there opening day for a weekend getaway.

The one thing that concerns me is it sure doesn't look like they are very far on the Savannah? I wonder if it will even be open with animals on May 1?

thanks for the great pics. now when I am down there in may I will certainly have to make a trip over there.
