MIDDLETOWN BOE POSTED ANOTHER DAY OFF TOMORROW DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. :woohoo:

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Congratulations on your unexpected extended vacation!! :thumbsup2

We are supposed to go skiing this weekend- still hoping for the best- but Sean came down with the stomach flu on Tuesday night (ugh- it's like a toddler having stomach flu except in MUCH LARGER PROPORTIONS :crazy2:), Pods came home with it this afternoon, and 10 minutes ago, Timmy went down for the count.

And then there were two.

I wish Tyler & I would just get it in the next 8 hours because it really is a 24 hour (or less) thing, and then we could probably still go. UGH. I have not gotten it the past 2 times the rest of the house has, so maybe that will happen again? :confused3 Even MORE upsetting (or equally upsetting), Sunday night is Chinese New Year at my girlfriend Fiona's house- and i LOOOOOOOVE Chinese New Year! What if we miss that?

Oh bother......

How does Tyler feel about that?

I'm so sorry about that nasty virus circulating. I'm confident you'll be celebrating the Chinese New Year. Will 'Rita be there too?

He feels the same way I do- get it now and be done!! :rotfl:

And no, Rita has never come to Chinese New Year. I believe her favorite holiday is Cinco de Mayo! But her girlfriend, Saketini, usually makes an appearance! :rotfl2:

Every trip I say I am going to eat breakfast at Kona and then I never do. I think May will have to be the trip to remedy that. May 7th. I've made up my mind. It's affirmative!

BTW - I have decided NOT to arrive early for the May trip. I am going to arrive with the rest of the crew on May 2nd. We should arrive in the afternoon around 3pm. That will give us time to get checked in, nose around, and then head over to the Contemporary for dinner. After that EMH at MK.

I am disappointed about not arriving early, but made the decision because I really feel like I should be the one at home to corral in the teens and give them final instructions. My oldest son is pretty challenging right now. He thinks he can just come and go as he pleases.....NOT! I want to make sure he is present and accounted for BEFORE all parental units leave the premises.

Oh- and for those keeping score in Puke Fest 2010-

The cheese stands alone. (well, I stand with a mop and towels and disinfectant, but, essentially, alone).

Fun night at our house last night kids! :scared:

Welcome back!!! How were all the DISmeets? And the hot italians? So missed you!!:goodvibes Looking forward to the TR!

Ellen the Meets were NON STOP !!! We pole danced, Took Peep pix and I had a lot of help with "THE HOT ITALIAN QUEST":lmao::lmao:

Oh my gosh, how will I ever choose? :confused3 They both look amazing, but I'm the only one in my family who would eat either one. :sad2:

Oh!!! I'm so sad you won't be there the whole time we are! But I totally get it- have to make sure those boys are all set up!! You will never have fun if they aren't. How old is your oldest?

I am so glad you had so many laughs!! :rotfl: A great bunch of DISpeeps you met up with- can't wait to read all your stories. How many days were you there? It's never long enough- is it. Well, welcome back. :hippie:

I WAS THERE 7 NIGHTS !!! You are right it is never long enuff but the FAMILY was VERY glad to have me back !!!!

He will be a week shy of 17 when we leave for the May trip. We had originally planned to leave him home with a neighbor checking in. Now I'm not so sure. He still has a driving curfew (state law), but I don't particularly trust him to abide by it. We are traveling sunday - friday so we are only away during school nights. But at his age schools nights don't mean that much. It's tough. I can't wait till he gets through the next year and a half and gets in college. Every day my DH and I say...."Let's just get him to 18".

speaking of PUKE FEST, My younger DS (15) was out for the count with a stomach bug yesterday. I felt so bad for him. And he stills wants me to hold his hand. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get it. YIKES!

Decide when you arrive if you're in the mood for savory or sweet- I found them to be at opposite ends of the spectrum, in that respect. The Tonga toast is coated in sugar, every bite has a sugary crunch- with soft banana in the center ( and we all know how bananas & strawberries compliment one another).:goodvibes The pancakes were nutty- and macadamias are the fattiest nut there is, so the nuts are a soft crunchy- with the pineapple, slightly tart but sweet topping, and then that butter....Oh...the macadamia nut butter.....

Please....a moment of silence and respect for macadamia nut butter.:cloud9:

The butter puts it over the top. But it really is a savory breakfast, compared with that Tonga Toast (I don't use a whole lot of syrup, so that's part of it, too). Not to confuse you, but they had other pretty breakfast offerings there- if you love fruit, the table next to us had a pineapple brimming with fruit salad that didn't look too shabby!

I have no doubt they were- you are a gem!

I fully expect to be saying the same in a few years myself- "Let's just get him to 18" :rotfl: It's hard!! All of it!! But obviously worth it.

That is so sweet he wants you to hold his hand! I was too busy being the cleaning crew last night to hold hands with anyone, LOL! Everyone is sleepy today- it was a very looooooooong night. Cross your fingers they are up for skiing tomorrow... they will be so sad if they can't go. And I have not gotten it.....knock wood for both you AND me!!

Oh great, more choices...:sad2: :lmao: That fruit sounds good!

We got by with leaving town when our boys were that age, but found out there were parties held (after its too late of course) In fact, our oldest didn't stop having "get togethers" at our house when we were out of town until the last couple of years - I believe he was 24 the last time! It is so hard to leave and wonder if they will be safe and sane while you're gone. Hope your son feels better quickly!

Ellen, I hope you are still standin' and that everyone else is better - sorry everyone was sick! Good thing you got back to take care of them!

Thanks- and, miraculously, I did NOT get it! We went skiing on Saturday with our friends and stayed overnight, they went tubing and for the first time ever, I skipped the tubing- it was sooooooooooooooo cold!! And I was exhausted- but, now I really regret it- it was excellent tubing, best they've had in years. I did spend part of the hour talking to Cammie on the phone, though, so that was nice. :)

But all of that really wiped them all out, they spent yesterday laying around- all is good now, though! :thumbsup2
