Kidani Dedicated vs. Lockoff 2BR

I understand the difference between a dedicated 2BR and a lockoff 2BR, but how do you find out which one you're booked in?

We are renting points at Kidani for a 2BR in January. I didn't even know there were two different types of 2BR's until I was reading the room descriptions on Allears.

Looking around on the boards, it sounds like there are advantages/disadvantages to both types of rooms, so it doesn't really matter to me which one we have. But my question is...is the room type already determined at the time of booking, or is this something we can select at check-in (or is it something we can request ahead of time)?

Any recommendations on which type you like better?

They are booking categories within the 2-bedroom category.

If you call MS, they will book a dedicated (if available) unless you ask for a lock-off.

The on-line reservation system lists both types of 2-bedrooms as a selection criteria if the resort has both.

The main difference is the second bedroom. In a dedicated, it will have 2 queens, in a lockoff it will have a queen and a double sofabed. A lockoff 2nd bedroom is actually a studio so you will have a kitchenette and a separate entrance to the hall. A dedicated will not have either.

In Kidani, a dedicated 2 bedroom has a marvelous balcony that spans the whole villa!

The room type should be listed on the confirmation. To change the booked room type requires a cancellation and new reservation which may not be available.
