What fl or location is best. Read somewhere that high floors have trees blocking best savannah views? Always get high Floor at other DVC but wasn't sure here

Thx

I am assuming you have savanna view. Not sure where the high floor means trees blocking views rumor came from but for the most part at Kidani, you do not have trees doing any significant blocking of views whether you get high or low floor.

Kidani has rooms on four floors, 2 through 5 (on the first floor is the parking garage and restaurant). There are many who prefer the lower floor (2 or 3) view because it provides a more direct sight line to the animals. There are others who like the higher floor because you get a somewhat more panoramic view. Personal view is that either is fine and thus we no longer make floor level requests for Kidani.

The more important request is location within the resort. You should request Sunset savanna view (80% of savanna view rooms) if you want to see giraffes and zebras because the smaller Pembe savanna has neither. Beyond that the issue becomes your desire, or lack thereof, to walk great distances. Kidani has two wings, north which runs past the pool, and south which runs towards Jambo. The store and restaurant are in the same area as the lobby. The pool is actually a little ways up the north wing and to the west. The bus stop and community hall are on the south wing not very far from the lobby. There are six elevators, three along each wing (with the ones away from the lobby having names). The walking distance down the hall from the lobby to the end rooms on the north wing is about 1/3 mile, about the same distance as walking from the base of the World Showcase to Germany. The distance to the end of the south wing is a little shortter at just over 1/4 mile. If you want to be close to the bus stop and thus fairly close to lobby, possible requests include close to community hall, close to bus stop, or close to the Timon elevator. If you want to be close to the pool, then you could request close to pool or instead close to the Rafiki elevator, which will put you a little ways from the lobby and give you the shortest possible walk via that elevator to the pool. If insterad you want to have the shortest walk to Jambo, which would still be about 1/4 mile walk, request close to the Zazu elevator, which is the last elevator on the south wing. The last elevator on the north wing is Pumba and I cannot recommend anyone seeking to be close to it except those who have standard view and want a chance of getting savanna view because room the main rooms that were converted from savanna to standard view at Kidani are ones near the Pumba elevator that overlook Pembe savanna.
