Kidani 1 bdrm std view

Anyone have info on what room, or area, I should request? Our first stay as dvc members is in September.

Welcome! Kidani is our home (and favorite) resort!!! We recently stayed in 7213, which is a 2-bedroom standard view. I really recommend this section of the hotel... we were able to walk out our door and exit directly to the buses, and the lobby was just a little further down. We also liked the first floor since we didn’t need to do the elevator. Also, having a standard view room to save points, we were able to just walk down the hall towards the lobby and go on the deck to observe the animals. Every night when we walked by to fill drinks in the gift shop, the young giraffe was right outside trying to get to a treat placed on a pole.

We always request near the Pumbaa elevator. We were there for two weeks over the holidays. These rooms give you a view of the small savannah. We saw so many animals throughout the day—nyalas, okapi, zebras, red river hogs, water bucks, ostriches, various other birds. It was really wonderful.

See this map https://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/Kindani_Village_Map.jpg. The front of the lobby area faces west and thus there is a north wing (on left side of map where the pool is) and a a south wing. The internal walk from one end of the building to the other is about 2/3 mile. On the south wing you will see eight building pods with rooms (the last one is smaller than the others; the north wing has nine pods. The standard view rooms on the south wing are all in the first four pods from the lobby facing west to northwest; the remaining pods in the south wing actually have no rooms on that standard side of the building. The standard views on the south wing range from front entrance area to the back of the bus stop to the road and some parking areas.

On the north wing, there are standards in the first three building pods from the lobby, facing front entrance or pool area. Part of the rooms in the fourth building pad are also standard even though they are at the tail end of the Pembe Savanna (their main view is still the pool). Then the rooms overlooking the Pembe Savanna in the sixth and seventh pods from the lobby are standard view (the outer perimeter fence comes in there fairly close to the building and that narrowing of the savanna is the reason they are standard view; the two standard view GVs are in that sixth and seventh pod).

On the map along the building you will see six red AED signs. The elevators are located there The two closest to the lobby have no name, but the others have a name. On the north wing the elevator between the second and third pod is the Rafiki elevator, and the one between the sixth and seventh pods (where there are standard rooms overlooking Pember Savanna) is the Pumbaa elevator. On the south wing the elevator between the second and third pods is the Timon elevator, and the one between the fifth and sixth pods in Zazu.

If you want a standard view room with a savanna view, request room near the Pumbaa elevator; just be aware that if you get it, you will have long walks to the lobby and buses, If you want a room providing the quickest access to the pool, request a room near the Rafiki elevator -- down the elevator to first (parking lot) floor gives a short walk to a walkway that goes to the one of the gates for the pool area. If you want to be close to bus transportation (on the south wing), request that or request room near the Timon elevator. If requesting any area other than near the Pumbaa elevator, you might also consider requesting high floor as those have better views than the lower-floor standard rooms.

A great resource i use is touringplans.com, they have a room finder system which is great plus it will show you the view from that exact room. Also, they have a crowd calendar which will let you the crowd level for each park on any given day.
