I am in the process of researching the different restaurants for our trip. I will have to start reserving at the end of this month. We will have the dining plan, so we have to chose from their list. I am looking for places that the kids will also enjoy, but don't want all character restaurants.

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks,
Melanie

Off the top of my head in no particular order, here are the ones I can think of. Also you will only see 1 character meal because it is about much more than the characters.

'Ohanas...they really make the kids part of the fun and games.

50's Prime Time...if your kids are hams they will play along with them.

Pizza Planet ... The food is nothing special, but the arcade gives the kids plenty to do while Mom and Dad take a break.

Whispering Canyon... This place is tailored around the total kid experience. Adults are best to check their ages at the door and enjoy the party.

Coral Reef... the full size wall to wall fish tank will keep kids of all ages entertained for hours.

T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe... Owned by the same company and filled with eye candy and animatronics to amuse and amaze kids everywhere.

Cinderella's Royal Table... Yes, this is a character meal, but the star is really the castle dining room's gothic decor. It will make all feel like a prince or princess.

Biergarten... The kids love to dance to the oompa music and at Christmas the shows add a special kids part.

Teppan Edo... Kids love to much the Japanese masters at work.

Really, there are more places that are tailored to the kid experience than not. Have fun!

You said that perfectly:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Biergarten, Coral Reef, 1900 Park Fare were big hits with my kids. The dancing at Biergarten was awesome. We just watched the video of them today.

Thanks guys, I will have to check them out. I forgot to mention that my kids are both 4 1/2 for the trip.

My 5 year old son recommends Chef Mickey's, Whispering Canyon (or the "we need ketchup" restaurant as he calls it---eat there for dinner and you will know why he calls it that;)) and Sci Fi. My kids also like Tony's Town Square -- we schedule a late lunch there around parade time.

Enjoy your trip
